What do you hope vs expect from 3.25?

Just like every league I'm still waiting to see some mapping league mechanics that I will actually enjoy - Expedition was the last League mechanic that I really liked. If that doesn't happen - oh well, I'll just stick to the base game as usual.

Another little Atlas tree shakeup would be nice to 'force' me into some new farming strategies.

But in general I don't really care. This was hot garbage crafting league with forced monster modifiers on maps, but I still ended up playing quite a bit - can it get any worse than this? :D

What would surprise you in a positive way that GGG could do that would be bare minimum to boost your own retention through another four month league?

Yeah, [Removed by Support]

Or, hopefully a league mechanic I can skip if I choose.

I am seeing more and more traditional paragons of good forum etiquette on here getting RBSed lately. What gives?

Please reword! (I know, irony coming from me, but go with it.)

edit: Nope, false alarm.

Yes I got one a few weeks ago and I am just about as polite a poster as you can get and a player since 2013. GGG's forum police person would be well advised to actually look at a few of the players posts instead of focusing on a few words in a long post. [Removed by Support]

^from my experience, being a regular poster both polite AND not polite....the things that get removed are generally warranted.

The issue is when things get overlooked because they are just obtuse enough to require a bit of extra thinking to see how derogatory and inflammatory the statement is.

I've been probied twice in my decade plus here, and they were both "appropriate". I tend to get very flustered when dealing with people who's heads are so supremely buried in the sand that they still think the world is flat.
I dont really expect anything, knowing GGG though they'll just do a bunch of melee nerfs that no one asked for, for no reason, and then I'll just be sad still.

Bring back old sunder plz...

OMG STOP I can't handle this *tears*
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

With the reveal soon, how do you think the Necropolis EXP alongside the data will change GGG in a positive way? I understand how the next league is already planned out, but I'm curious for the long term direction.

What would surprise me in a positive way would be updates to the ladder/rankings of PoE both in-game and within the website. Currently, if you asked the majority who are some of the best PoE players, well outside of streamer organized/promoted private events like the Gauntlet (event that has become inconsistent) most wouldn't have an answer, because most don't even care and that's on GGG.
...

So this is likely gonna get people sighing at me, as I haven't been here much in recent times...but why is it that every single post I see you make talks about the ladder/ranking system? You...are aware this is a largely single-player PvE game with strictly limited "competitive" viability, yes? The only way I know of for people to really compete in PoE is timed boss kill events or timed road-to-100, and frankly the latter has become so gamed out by huge guilds feeding hundreds of people's effort into a single Race Star that I can't imagine it qualifies as actually being a competition anymore.

The PvP in PoE is rudimentary at best, and past a certain point there's no ready way to distinguish "great at POE" from "One of the best". If you can casually farm Uber Maven, does it really matter if someone else can casually farm Uber Maven 7.3% more efficiently? What does it even mean to farm "more efficiently"? Save for, once again, adding a time/race element to it, and frankly I cannot imagine anyone would ever give a donkey about someone being able to do .113 more Mavens per hour than someone else.

You're right - most people don't care about the ladder/ranking system in PoE. You are wrong in the assertion that this is on Grinding Gear, however. Path of Exile is not a competitive game. If you can clear the bar, that's all you need, and that has more to do with whether you know the Secret Hidden Arts of generating stupid amounts of currency without having to actually do any work or play the game. There is no direct axis of "Skill" with which to measure individual talent finely enough for such a thing as a proper leaderboard to exist, nor would most anybody in this game want one.

If you want to be eFamous for your l33t vid3o g@me sk!lz and have the whole world fawn over your miraculous gamer fingers, this is really, really not the game you should be focusing on.

PoE ladder is the trade site.
if there are one moment where the game makes so fucking sense is when youre watching a race. this is one of the rare moments where i find myself saying, this makes sense and i dont see the strangest design decisions possible that i see otherwise.
i find it very very obvious especially when you have good commentators like raizqt.

now ggg doesnt do a lot of races anymore but you can still see the racing roots in the game. and racers are amazing be it shorter races or longer with ben darkee.

my hope would be that they balance defense layers for league starters. grace determination life resist spell suppress zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
1. Keep positive thing from Necropolis:
- distant looting (no need to come to the corpse to loot it)
- temporary external stash, NPC comes to loot for you

2. As it’s still too difficult to get Mageblood for us, common people (casual players), next league I would like to see introduction of daily quests with a chance to get Apothecary card as a reward - this would also solve league retention issue we’ve seen this time. And please, make T17 easier, yellow maps are ideal.

(point 2 is a joke)
