What do you hope vs expect from 3.25?

I have no expectations

nothing. i almost dont care anymore.

Hopes:
- A league mechanic that doesn't rely on Google forms and/or stash-juggling
- Sweeping Melee improvements
- Varied challenge rewards (Auras, wings, weapon effects, etc)

Expectations:
- :_(

I expect to skip it.

The whole world? I'd argue no vidja game in existence is gonna give you that no matter how good you are. It's all about impressing those who care about what you're good at, or at least plan to get good at. Let Me Solo Her is arguably the most famous gamer at the moment, and I reckon a fairly small percentage of the world even knows what game made him famous.

As for PoE, you are doubly right. The fact that I was able to *pay* for fame here is proof of that. I'll never be as good at PoE as any of you, but I reckon more Exiles know my name than any of yours. PoE is not pay to win -- unless your idea of 'winning' is being found in other games and people asking 'are you THE Charan of PoE!?'

It's a dirty game I played but when you think about it, a decent reflection of real life.

OTOH there's another oldschool uber whale out there and he was far humbler than I. He chose not to win the game I played because he didn't have to. He awes me, to be completely honest. More than any streamer or influencer. He was the real hero.

Anyway, look at it this way: kOP makes fun threads almost regardless of whatever started them. We can be grateful for that much. A meaningful contribution to the community's collective well-being.

And maybe new challenger rewards(pets/portals etc.)armour sets are good but its getting old...

Before i set my mood into melee buffs I'd rather expect nothing and not get disappointed.

I hope that there's a review of the Range V Bonk relationship. This can be applied to any build like with point blank and how we used to be able to shotgun freezing pulse. I want skills like heavy strike to slap (a bitch).

Either give us more damage the closer we are to a target, so we can invest more into defence. Or give us more defence the closer we are to a target so we can invest more into damage.

Get rid of ancestral totems too please. Give melee a flat 15% buff as a trade-off. You could make it so totems give a temp/permanent buff and slow movement speed due to you carrying it on your back; I don't know. The current ancestral totem design is just garage for the sake of content and everyone hates it. All they're good for is paper DPS and that's worthless.

I like your attitude; it's very Zen.

I'm expecting an excellent ARPG, and something closer in spirit, feel, and pace to 1.xx PoE, rather than 3.xx, but beyond that I'm trying not to have any expectations. I'm also not watching any game play videos; I want to actually play the thing, and be surprised by it. I also expect to die. Probably a lot more than Zizaran.
