Let's talk about broken economies.......
Last league the economy was fucked up because of the way things adding up loot were working together, this league the "fix" completely ruined the economy within the first 4 days of the league thanks to the div card scarab that allowed you to print divines in a t1 map. Seriously, the inflation is so bad right now there is no point in playing the league (if you aren't playing solo selffound) because it is impossible to buy any t1 item if you haven't abused the scarab mechanic yourself. How is it possible to fuck up things so badly over and over again? I think it would be a good idea to let a few real players test a new league 2-3 days before the league starts. What do you think? /discuss

The economy of this game is one of the most over rated aspects of it. Just go into maps, kills things.. get loot. You'll get your items that you want if you're playing a build that is appropriate for farming content.

Please watch Belton's 1.5 hour long video before going and ranting about something you don't understand. I've played this game for many years now and the economy just became "normal" coming back from necro and affliction that ruined it all. Thank you !

" It's always the same dude's. Running alch and go and expecting divines left and right. You need to heavily invest into a mechanic and then run straight up corrupted 8 mod maps. Or you play a delve, heist or sanctum farmer. And when you completely want to ascend in trade, check Belton. Then you never ever need to leave your hideout anymore and the inflation isn't part of your issues. | |
" I'm playing POE since closed Beta and I think I have a pretty good idea of how the game works, but thanks. ;o) But none of this has anything to do with the things I was talking about. ^^ And maybe it's a good idea to stop watching other peoples' shitty videos and instead try to monitor the market or process the patchnotes to get a real understanding of what is going on. But hey, to each his own. German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

Prices seem normal to me for a league where you can't print T0s at will. I'm sure someone will come up with a T17 rarity-stacking strategy that works to print them. Or not. Ralakesh's price is pretty crazy if it's a T1.

I think this is a pretty big over-exaggeration of what happened. GGG made a news post about it. The TLDR being that a handful of people did this exploit once, and then a 12 person guild abused it massively.
The wealth generated was locked, and the offenders will surely be banned for the league if not longer. I wouldn't take an isolated incident, and draw any significant conclusions. The extreme lengths players go to will always present themselves when the population booms at league launch. No way a couple of added players "testing" catches this. It's an oversight to be sure, one that only gets visibility when hundreds of thousands are playing the game at any single point in time. While I'm often critical of GGG they handled this as well as you could have in my view. PoE1 is massive at this stage of it's life, with insane amounts of distinct interactions. For them to be "perfect", given these variables, seems unrealistic. They just have to put out fires when they inevitably flare up. " I really hope that they will ban these aholes forever. And don't get me wrong I'm not blaming GGG at all! The game is so big and there are so many systems it's not their fault that shit like this happens BUT I think the main problem is that a developer (trying to create a fun game) has a completely different mindset than a player (getting as much as easy as possible) and that is why I think it would be a good idea to have something like a small closed beta before every league start. Hmmm, it is hard to play test for everything in a game as complex as POE. POE just needs to follow the money. Track everyone's wealth with a tool like Exilence Next. Then create a dashboard that will alert them when someone exceeds a certain div per hour. Red alerts should be flashing when someone is making 1000+ divs per hour.
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

when general population falls below a certain amount its unplayable unless you're more solo oriented.
when there's no gear to buy or even bases to craft on to buy its unrealistic in most cases to obtain your own stuff, some like the dice roll but this game was built on trade. Maybe if you modify what you're farming to the remaining population you can make due but there's no garuntee you'll ever get the gear YOU need even if you play hard for the whole leagues duration. i don't want the game to be SSF, but some SSF friendly options to obtaining specifically what we need would be nice for when the economy to support diverse playstyles isn't there.
