Why does GGG allow people to exploit and break the economy? I don't get it.

this sentence doesnt make sense its not like GGG knows beforehand what exploits gonna exist to exploits are found out after somone expoloited only then GGG can take action...comon man
they handled it decently and quick. much better than LE where the dupe found by "eastern players" wasnt addressed for days.

here they spotted the problem within 2 hours and figured who did it. pretty impressive.

i dont really see how they could do faster/better than that.
maybe with an "overseeing eye" AI ? ;)

At one point the exploiters (4 people) owned half of the mirrors in POE. That is not a drop in the bucket. Belton Youtube says the exploiters were making 15,000 divines a day.

This was on like day 3 of the league and was shutdown within hours. Estimating 15k divines per day is nice and all but when they could only do it for a few hours that's not that much. Likewise owning half the mirrors found in the first couple days of a league is inconsequential, as is those mirrors all being effectively deleted now. It's very much a small drop in a very big bucket.

Owning half of the mirrors was just a fraction of the wealth the exploiters generated. You can believe what you want but most importantly, GGG didn't consider the total divines generated to be a small drop in a very big bucket.

Per GGG: We've locked all the wealth generated from this to prevent it from getting into the economy while we decide what to do, but we will not allow this wealth to re-enter the economy.

GGG did not let that small drop ride and will be updating their policies. GGG doesn't have to estimate anything. They know how much the exploiters earned. The exploiters initially got a permanent ban that was downgraded to league suspension.

This will get interesting.
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

The economy of this game is one of the most over rated aspects of it. Just go into maps, kills things.. get loot. You'll get your items that you want if you're playing a build that is appropriate for farming content.

More like go into map kill things... get garbage. You'll never get anything worth more then its shop value.
