I wonder if it has something to do with ryzen cpus specifically. The OP is using a 5600X, another guy is using a 5700X3D, I'm using a 3600XT.

I do believe this is a factor too (im 5800X), i have had 1 smaller crash since the change on HMB, it was definately affecting it and improved it, but there might be a reason for that.

24h2 also borked up the amd scep intermediate certificates retrieval for the ftpm. i would not be surprised if many of you had an error for it in the event log. this one, is a fix via amd/ms i believe, though i have heard ppl accidently fixing this as an issue 2 years ago when the certificates last expired when they reseat cpus... im not there yet, but im close ><.

the HMB connection tho, well, ftpm borrows dram for the keys.. shared resource with the HMB. I suspect security issues are being triggered. but ngl im pretty over it.
if i do still get persistant crashes, (only one since, and it was not as hardlocked but still needed a reboot) im next disabling TPM and secure boot. then after that, re-seating cpu and cmos clearing. beyond that I'm all out of ideas bar yeeting my pc off a cliff and sulking about maybe missing poe 2.

Think you were on to something with the windows update 24H2. Try downgrading to 23H2 or 22H2.

Windows 11 Home, 23H2.

I don't know then, so lost.

All of these threads talk about freezes in some sort of way, top is just loading screen freezes it sounds like, and the bottom is what we are experiencing. Most people are saying it's the 24H2 update, or nvidia drivers or a combination of the two. Nothing seems like it's working though.

OK, since the last post, ive just disabled secure boot and the ftpm in bios as well as TME .its the only other thing i can see in event lag next to network adapter lso.
no crash yet, will post if it does.

just note if you use bitlocker encryption its more complicated process to disable the ftpm, don't just do it, you will need the encryption keys, you have to decrypt in windows security first (toggle it off and wait for the progress bar) and obviously, this makes the system less secure but eh, i wanna game lol.

Pretty sure that's not the issue, never had bitlocker enabled, also have secure boot and TPM disabled. On Win11 Enterprise.

yea, crashed, there was hope. i have come accross a few posts of ram being unstable on this update too, but i dont, this whole thing may aswell be voodoo magic.

I make a change, it seems ok just long enough to get hope and think that did it, then it freezes, legit about to through it all out the front and say screw it
So, have now gone the longest without a crash.
All the settings I reset back, like TPM, secure boot.

I have disabled c-states, and manually input slower times on my RAM,
previously it was 3600, which does technically OC the flck on ryzens from base 1600 to 1800.

I dropped the ram down using the timings read from hwinfo to the 1600/3200 times manually inputting them, if you are unsure what I'm talking about do ask,

I should have maybe tried these 2 things separately, now I don't know which one is solving it (if it is at all, and I've just been lucky to get through 40 maps where in the past 5 at most before a full system freeze)

I'm not sure what changed, I've used the pc for years, can a Windows update destabilise XMP or other clocks speeds that were otherwise not a problem? Maybe, seeing as I only see AMD owners reporting the issue, it's fclk causing the issue.

I'll do the same, if I crash again, I'll post but otherwise going strong. (housemate remarked she could see the game running noticeably better and loading better than it has before on this machine). But, also, the moment I think it's resolved it happens again, so we will see.

It's not 24H2. I'm on 23H2 and have the same issue. It might be the nVidia drivers as I updated these a few days ago, however.

I've got the same issue.
Windows sometimes freezes completely on PoE loading screens.
It's only happening on loading screens.

On DirectX 12 it happens very often.
Vulkan is much more stable but also freezes up sometimes.
DirectX 11 is so slow on my machine I'd call it unplayable so I haven't really tested that.

My PC:
Windows 11 24H2
AMD Ryzen 5700x
Nvidia Geforce RTX 4060
32GB RAM

All drivers, Bios, etc. are up to date.

I can't revert to Windows 11 23H2 without a complete Windows reinstall.
Haven't tried older Nvidia drivers yet.

Tried several other things, nothing really helped.

I limited the CPU core usage of PoE to logical cores 3-16 with Process Lasso.
At least now it no longer freezes the complete operating system when it happens but only uses those 14 logical cores at 100%. The OS then still has cores 1 and 2 available for its tasks and you can kill the hung PoE process in the task manager.
Changing from DirectX 11 to 12 seems to have fixed it for me, at least for now. Also makes for better performance. I'll report back if I encounter the issue again.
I'd rather have no Harvest and the hope it one day returns in glory than this trash.
