POE2 - 32:9 monitors (5120x1440) without bars??

It’s like answering your own question at this point about widescreen.

You don’t get to see further than people just because you have a cool monitor sorry

Thanks for info. How old is this post?

widescreen resolution removed from the game.

Why did you create new topic?

The game is balanced around oldish hardware and vision overall, so accept it.

Why are people always so unfriendly when it comes to 32:9? Yes, you can see more, but it's definitely not a cheat code. It's not about earning a living but simply having fun with the beauty of the game and immersing yourself in the world. If there really should be prize money again then GGG has to create a standardized league where all settings FPS / resolution etc. are the same. FPS players also buy 240 heart monitors, so nobody complains that this is an advantage. Besides, we played on 32:9 in POE 1 for years before that and there were simply no problems. We all invested a lot of money in the game only to have the gaming experience completely taken away from us with the huge black bars. You all have no idea whether it will be supported or not, but the main thing is to annoy the people who are looking forward to possibly playing their favorite game in full glory again with stupid comments. I'll never understand how people can be so vindictive.
Why not then let players zoom out arbitrarily far because they have a big giant standard 4k?

The answer is.. because it would not be fair to players, and it would require them to change elements of their servers and networking.

This issue has been present in nearly every top-down game. Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Diablo, Path of Exile. FInd me a popular online top-down game with SUW support.

Thanks Nilex for the response, you're absolutely right.

I don't care about any "cheating", I'm 46 and I play games for fun (and for myself!).
Unfortunately, in a 2560x1440 window the "gaming feeling" is lost....

You're talking nonsense...
4k resolution is normally supported (at least it used to be, yes I had a 4k monitor before I switched to ultrawide).

Diablo 4 is also played with bars on the sides, but they are not as HUGE as in PoE. Ironically with D4 it still doesn't feel that bad - I played it for a while and it was playable that way. Unfortunately the game is shit.

It's all the more sad that PoE BANNED the original support by choice.

I hope never will. 5120x1440 is like cheat code.

What are yopu talking about? How does that effect your gameplay? This is not a competetive game and even then, it is a stupid argument. Even LoL supports it. Do you want to punish people that have a better mouse than you too?
Don't have ultrawide experience, I thought it would stretch to scale, or at least that there would be an option for it.
I'm sure there will be someone who'll make a mod to enable 32:9.
Pretty sure I saw an interview where Jonathan Rodgers said there will be black bars beyond 21:9. I remembered this because I'm a fellow 32:9 enjoyer with my Samsung G9 49" Ultrawide...
