In general, I think it's a good bet that if they don't say it has changed, it did not change.
OP seems to like it for the beauty of the game rather than the notable advantage it gives in terms of viewing the game and monsters before they're activated. I can appreciate that point, but balancing a game is more about leveling the playing field as reasonable as possible. Someone with a monitor that supports 32:9 is one extreme of the bell curve. If a majority of players or even a reasonable plurality of players had that, then from a balance perspective it would make sense to include it. But most players don't have that. I would venture to say a lot of players are rolling with 1080P (1920 × 1080/16:9) around the center of the bell curve. I don't even want to field a guess on the extreme low end of the bell curve for the players. So just from a balance perspective, it's not a level playing field to include it. I can't speak to the server side of things other than parroting what GGG has stated. |

" This is very sad information. Unless there is some way around this, unfortunately PoE2 will be without me... I just can't handle this internally and I'm not changing the monitor for the game... |

" Yes, I understand your argument. Unfortunately, the gaming experience is simply horrendous for us "with a race car" like this. If it's such a big problem, they could at least reduce the bars to Diablo 4 levels - admittedly it wasn't particularly enjoyable to play either, but it didn't interfere with the experience and I spent a good few hours with D4. PoE - PoE is a better game, better programmed from an IT point of view than normal, but this is just... |

with a minimap - you can anyways see the dots representing monsters = no advantage
can be easily handled via "fog of war" i.e. there are literally plenty of solutions of handling ultra wide or other non-standard resolutions Another alternative - let us "cut off" the top / bottom view area just to be able to fill sides - its like 4k view with cut-off tops and bottoms horizontal areas - you see? no advantage over poor kids Black bars is just a blunt solution expressing "We dont care" - and thats a wrong call business wise -> adult people having money for expensive monitors are more likley to spend cash ingame to save time - we value time more and more as we get older Those monitors are getting more and more common anyways I am sick of poor kids without imagination owning 1080p whining for equality in a PVE game Im a POE fan for years, I enrage when I see comparison "in diablo they f*cked that up as well, so its the way to go" ykies! peace, and low que's on EA! |

Guys any update? Has anyone tried it yet? Still 21:9?

You can select 5120x1440 in the settings, but it doesn't work - still has vertical bars, so it's effectively 21x9.

" Yeah... but key paid, game installed... bars piss me off, luckily the screen is not "only" 21:9, but a little wider.... |

Another "Race car" owner here.. making a pit stop to say NO to black bars.
