Having played a slight variant of this build for 73 levels now, I threw the whole power charge system out. It's just not worth it to construct a complicated way around your build just to get a slight damage boost on your Bonestorm. Especially since you're already hitting hard and have insane AoE clear anyway with corpse explosion. It's mandatory though to use spell echo for a double explosion and buff the spell further with 2 more +AoE support gems.
Also, it's pretty bad to have one gear slot completely occupied just for power charge generation, whether it's bushwacker boots (pin when physical damage) or redflare.

Isn't the explosion base damage same as the projectile damage? Meaning that will double your bonestorm damage.

Pretty sure Goring would be the best anointed Passive for DPS, although I'm not sure at what HP value the crit damage loss from losing 5% HP would outweigh the 40% physical. something to test. And there's lifeleech right on it!

Made the decision to put pin straight into bonestorm to get some powercharges. This did turn out not to want those power charges as bad as i like the enemies to actually get pinned into place.

My bonestorm currently sits in like 5.5k dps via tooltip, being enough to clear bosses etc in t4 maps, while DD takes care of aoe clear.

If wweonly could already build something like bone blast triggering from criticals or so. Im kinda torn to half with using DD, as it feels kinda easymode with fixed monster hp -based dmg. Maybe some day..

Made this search filter for jewels and figured I'd share since some of the mods are a bit finicky. FYI life doesn't exist on jewels, and strength can only be gotten via corruption implicit.

Fork and Chain mods sound very fun but suboptimal. Pierce mod is what I was using for the first few days and was good, until I started using Fork, at which point it was unnecessary. I'm now opting to build into armour, but I'd imagine most of you aren't. Life leeched and max fire res are suffixes for rubies, turn them on if you care for armour. I haven't tried pin buildup but I'd imagine its bad. That's why those mods are all in there but deselected by default. Turn off whatever else you don't care for. Remember to sort by the sum value, and play with the weights as you see fit, though without POB it likely won't be that big of a deal.
bonestorm and corpse explosion? is this diablo 4?
nice build bro, i know its just the core build but could you give more details on gear and other skills? do you go with wand? mace and shield? 2h? detonate dead?
Same here, day after day I want to remove power charge generation at all but the pin itself from boots r extremely powerful, especially when u can hold on place bosses that most of the time just neglect half of their meelee mechanics.
Also I completely removed any node or stat that focused only around the bonestorm itself since I'm using it only against elites or bosses (but sometimes even detonate dead r enough and more profitable than bonestorm).
So the final opinion - not worth to use bonestorm in the current state of the game. Detonate dead+boosted minion deals instant and higher damage than bonestorm could do with the lower and gear focused investment.
The only way to outperform detonate dead is to kill the whole screen with just one fully charged cast and somehow keep the spikes to stay on the ground so they'll deal dmg to everyone who's touching it. But that just unachievable.

Looks like this build might get some more help, potentially, even if they didn't say anything about the Blood Mage ascendancy.
