Hard crashing PC locks up

Feels great to be ignored, spend money for a product I can’t use. Merry Christmas everyone

Just chiming in. Full PC lockups on load screens happened to me on the day EA launched. I switched from DX12 to Vulkan and the crashes stopped until the most recent update. Can't rollback Windows 11 to 23H2 so I can't try that even though it seems Windows isn't the problem.

I saw on another thread someone got a Steam refund after 11 hours of playtime. I don't plan on refunding but if you really want your money back it seems Steam may honor it if you push hard enough. Just saying if Steam starts making an exception because of this crash, it *could* rings some bells over at GGG.

Specs:
RTX 4070 Ti Super
AMD 7800x3D
32GB RAM

Can I get a refund for my hx750?
It's early access - crashes are expected. This isn't a full game release so a review is sorta invalid.
Had the same pc freezing crash happen to me.
Luckily it was within 2 hours of buying.
After the second power cycle, refunded game, reported it on steam, and left a negative review.

I don't think I've experienced software behaviour like this since windows 98 days.

Tested on two system and both crash

5800x3d
32gb ram
4070 super

5600
32gb ram
4060

Fresh windows installs and all driver/bios updates applied.

That would be acceptable if these issues weren't also prevalent in POE1, and months before POE2 came out.

As is, a pc crashing bug like this is utterly unacceptable when it is so clearly widespread.

They haven't made a public announcement this is going on. Just a footnote in known issues, which is absurdly dismissive. They are basically giving us the "we hear you" treatment, then ignoring the issue, hoping windows fixes it.

Windows had to work alongside ubisoft so ubisoft's games would work.

GGG should be actively trying to contact windows and mentioning they have the same issue ubisoft had.

I've not seen your previous posts and I rarely jump at Hardware failure issues being caused by software, especially when it comes to gaming but my friends PSU seems to have gave up the goose and it happened off the back of playing this game. He usually plays CoD Warzone with no issues. Coincidence?

I've already posted a few times in here as I'm getting the hard freezes and have been disappointed at the lack of communication but I can work around it by enabling/disabling multi-threading.

The reason I've responded here is that I'm sure my friends PSU is a Corsair HX750 also. He's bringing it by tomorrow for us to take a look at to determine if it is the PSU or mobo etc. but it does try to power up before shutting down. Doesn't POST so can't get to the BIOS.

All people are asking for is a more affirmative response to let us know it's being prioritized. Instead we've got an update which addresses some gameplay and balance issues and doesn't mention the white elephant in the room that is this issue and 200+ thread supporting how wisespread it is.

There is mention of other fixes in the twitter posts but that's straw clutching at the minute, and when they say they're breaking up for Christmas it doesn't give you much hope this will be fixed anytime soon meaning many who bought it to play over the festive period may not be able to. So yeah, poor review and feedback to help others make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase it.

Lastly you better tell all the major gaming publications to rescind their reviews since the game isn't a full release. Sure IGN and co will be happy to pull them down since they're not valid...

I waited 5 years for this game, saved up for a top of the line pc the past couple months to be able to enjoy the game at it's fullest. I bought my parts at micro center, I payed for them to build it and to set it up and to tune everything to make sure it was ready to stream PoE 2, also had them stress test the hell out of it to make sure it was 100% stable. I've gotten 20 hard computer freezes on this new computer since PoE 2 has released. Now I'm getting physx bugs within the game and it's starting to effect my computers overall temperatures, stability, response time of my gpu and cpu and is degrading my m.2 from the lock ups causing stuttering issues. I am baffled this isn't being addressed and is being ignored. As someone who has spent 1k on mtx and 5k on computers the past 11 years to play this game, this feels like a slap in the face.

No mention at all on the upcoming patch, lovely...

Really sad.

If you have a Steam account, I suggest posting a comment under that post.

I also recommend posting a Negative Review of the game on the POE2 Steam Store page, to warn others about these crashes. Reviews can be edited, when and if they actually patch the game and fix this mess.

I gave it a thumbs down review and mentioned the crashes, including directing people to this web forum to see it's not a small, isolated issue. I saw lots of other people are doing the same thing.

IF they fix these crashes, I will gladly go back and edit my review to Positive.

i sadly doubt they care at all they made multiple hundred millions of their launch.. who cares about 1000 people crying in here about a fix lmao we will just get ignored as we have been in poe1 for months over months
