Hard crashing PC locks up
Good afternoon
I can't resist sharing with you. The computer freezes stopped after rolling back 24H2 to 23H2 (clean installation), but most importantly, I took the advice to add the ShaderCacheD3D12 folder to the exceptions and just had a blast! The graphics have changed and become so juicy - it’s just a blast! There have been no freezes since reinstalling windows - already 3 days. And here's another thing - the processor and video card were undervolted in order to have comfortable temperatures.....at 60 fps. Both temperatures are around 50-60 degrees. Currently the configuration is like this Windows 11 Pro 23H2 22631.4602 AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor Ram 32,0 Gb GF 4070 Ti SSd samsung 970evo 2Tb Last edited by JucheOld#2016 on Dec 17, 2024, 3:45:16 AM

Why are you all still on 24H2? Take just one hour to do a clean install of 23H2, and you'll be amazed at how much better it performs. The difference in Windows smoothness and game performance is night and day.
This isn’t just about PoE—plenty of other games are affected too. Recent searches highlight the issues: https://www.google.com/search?q=24h2+issues&client=firefox-b-d&sca_esv=60373811b08121ce&source=lnt&tbs=qdr:w&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjWu8GqsK6KAxXS8bsIHUwREtk4ChCnBXoECAUQCQ&biw=1440&bih=739&dpr=1 https://www.google.com/search?q=24h2+feezes&client=firefox-b-d&sca_esv=60373811b08121ce&biw=1440&bih=739&ei=TzZhZ7nDJrGE9u8Ppd6_4AU&ved=0ahUKEwj5puK3sa6KAxUxgv0HHSXvD1w4FBDh1QMIEA&uact=5&oq=24h2+feezes&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiCzI0aDIgZmVlemVzMgcQABiABBgNMggQABgFGA0YHjIIEAAYBRgNGB5InS9Q7wZYri1wAngAkAEAmAGzAaAB1Q6qAQQwLjEzuAEDyAEA-AEBmAIKoAK9CcICCBAAGIAEGLADwgIOEAAYgAQYsAMYhgMYigXCAgYQABgNGB7CAggQABgIGA0YHsICCBAhGKABGMMEwgIKECEYoAEYwwQYCsICBhAAGBYYHpgDAIgGAZAGBZIHAzIuOKAHyys&sclient=gws-wiz-serp In just the past week, there have been numerous reports of various issues, all pointing to 24H2 as the culprit. Since switching to 23H2, I haven’t had a single freeze. The so-called fixes shared recently don’t actually resolve the root cause; they just make the problems slightly more tolerable. The only real solution is to move to 23H2. And for those who make the switch, take note of how much smoother all your games run—it’s a noticeable improvement. It’s frustrating to see this thread still full of people experiencing issues while staying on 24H2. I feel like I’ve been given a fresh start after reinstalling Windows, but some of you are still stuck. One person even mentioned they can’t play over the holidays because of these problems. You could’ve been enjoying your games issue-free a week ago by switching to 23H2. Don’t wait any longer! |

The people that keeps posting the "downgrade to 23H2" have reading comprehension problems or white knight complex. How many times does it have to be said that 23H2 also has this issue? As many times as it has to be, obviously.

i'm just going to keep using process lasso with the game in fullscreen mode until they fix this.
would be nice to get an update, though! |

" Downgrading fixed the crashes for me, so you can "say" it one more time, and throw that misplaced white knight line in the mix too. Last edited by Lindentwig#2271 on Dec 17, 2024, 4:27:59 AM

" Downgrading didn’t help my problem, still freezing constantly. What not? |
|
" Didn't help downgrading, I'm afraid that white knight line wasn't misplaced |
|
" If it really helped me, why shouldn’t I write about it? |
|
" Yeah it helped you, how wonderful. What about the other people that downgraded and still couldn't play the game because of constant freeze/crashes and risking their PC's? Should we keep saying "it's an 24H2 issue" when it's clearly not? Those people that keep parroting "downgrade your Windows, it's an "24H2" issue, nothing wrong about my belowed PoE2" are surely the whitest of the knights. Disagree? Share your arguments. |

" My argument is that I did not say that this is a 24H2 problem and only downgrading will help with the problem, but I wrote that the advice to do a clean installation of 23H2 helped me! So why shouldn't I write about it? And in Microsoft support, Microsoft recommends refraining from updating to 24H2, as it admits that the update has problems....then decide for yourself. And yes, that's great. Thank you. Last edited by JucheOld#2016 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:00:36 AM
