For Intel users (specifically 13th and 14th gen users) suffering from this issue, I have the solution for probably a large portion of us. The windows version is completely irrelevant. I learned this in the dumbest way possible. I had a lot of friends begging me to attempt to play marvel rivals with them, upon downloading the game a large notification came up on the launcher that informed 13th and 14th gen users that if they are unable to load the shaders without their game crashing, they should download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and set the Performance Core Ratio down from 55 to either 53 or 52.
I originally ignored this, attempted to download the shaders, and the game crashed. Afterwards, I attempted one final time and my screen froze up exactly as it did after loading instances in POE 2 maps. I immediately downloaded the Intel tool, changed my performance core ratio to 52, and the game ran as smooth as butter. The next day, I figured I could try POE 2 again and boom. It's running perfectly smooth on max graphics. I have minimized, opened up other applications, and streamed the game without a single crash for the last two days.
I wish I understood more about computers because Path of Exile 2 absolutely melts your cpu whenever you are loading into new areas (albeit for maybe two seconds). Please if you are an Intel users try this and see if it works. You may have to reopen the tool every time you turn on your PC but once it is on, you should have no issues.
This very much worked for me, thanks! I downloaded POE2, it would crash to desktop every time I loaded into a new zone. Downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and set the Performance Core Ratio down from 55 to 52, been playing 2 days now without even a hiccup. 13900k/4070ti setup, good cooling, with idle temps 28, in game 42-55 range. Don't really get it, I play poe1, last epoch, d4, CoD, anything really, with no issues, but poe2 required me to do this, and now it works great.

This is so annoying, my plan was for months to play in my christmas vacation..
Imagine to plan your life around videogame, especially if it's early access (early alpha). Dude, you can't be serious.
Imagine getting offended over how someone else was looking forward to spending time on their xmas vacation doing something they wanted to do.
They didn't say 'I am annoyed because I was going to spend my WHOLE xmas vacation playing...'. They didn't even say they were annoyed because they felt they were entitled to play, you just assumed that.

You can roll back a Windows update by going to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Recovery" > "Go back to the previous version of Windows 11
I have played for 5 hours without any freezing o crash
Games made for windows, not windows for games. If game have problem with OS - then the game is the one to fix, now windows.
Exactly they have to fix the game not me working arond Windows!

Every day I read the last few pages of the crash threads hoping to see a stealth patch went live and the issue is fixed. I see there is nothing, but still scroll to cope cause all of my friends can play the game safely, but I can't.
Everyday I'm bombarded with a fix that works for some one and consider giving it a go, but never do. I think to myself, "This worked for that guy, maybe I should try. That doesn't seem too bad." But then the voice in my head reminds me how absurd of an issue this situation is. And how the last crash I experienced left me with no video output on the reboot. And how some one else in the thread is sending their PC in for repair cause of these crashes. And I just make my daily forum post, and leave. I built my PC last month with a 9800X3D and a 4080SUPER to be future proof and last me years... and I simply can't even play this game for fear of damaging my parts.
I'm done downloading third party software, limiting my CPU utilization %, disabling cores... Searching for 23H2 iso cause I have no roll back option just to crash again. Nothing works and its a POE issue cause no other game I have ever played in 10+ years of PC gaming has ever behaved like this.
I mean the whole thing is just ridiculous and it's a true shame it's not fixed. And what's even worse, is that this made it through all the testing and never was identified? I mean how does an issue this dramatic go unnoticed in their offices? Damn. Ultimate shame.
I was under the impression coming from Diablo 4 and Last Epoch, kinda new to the ARPG scene... that GGG was going to join the ranks of the Larian Studios and From Softwares of game development cause they are a wonderful studio with creativity, passion and innovation. While that may be true on the surface, if you dig deep you will find that they are no better than the Bungies, Activisions, and Blizzards of the world.
At the bare minimum, we should have a pinned message at the top of the bug page here that says something like "We are aware of crashing issues and are targeting a fix for...." They pride themselves on transparency with the community but care more about their image and good will so they ignore the portion of the community that is impacted by this issue, including some very well known streamers. Makes me feel like they are controlling the narrative as to not impact sales during the holiday. In fact, that's exactly what this is - optics. One tweet or forum post detailing the issue and you are off putting potential buyers. No better than Ubisoft, Activision, etc...
Despite this mishandling and incompetence, I'll still sink dozens of hours into the game because it is very well designed. I have 19 hours played so far with 15-20 crashes. Haven't played in more than a week. And wont be until this is fixed.

I recommend you use PoEUncrasher, it will help alleviate a lot of the issues you're experiencing, hopefully.
I personally just had my fill of the game until new classes are added. The endgame is boring.

Just because he finds it annoying doesn't mean he doesn't accept or understand it. Again, you're taking issue over something you have assumed rather than facts you have gained from his post. For some strange reason...

How does this program even work? Can you elaborate further

Does Solo Self-found mode use less resources?
I notice all the top streamers play this game in Hardcore SSF mode (HCSSF).
Is that their secret to avoiding crashes? Just playing solo?
