Hard crashing PC locks up

I've tryed POEUncrasher and at least until now, everything seems fine, also switched from DX12 to Vulkan, not sure if this makes any difference but might a try.
Merry Christmas everyone. Dont brick your PC this Christmas season as that would suck
The issue is still here.
I tried everything from this thread and in the other thread...

CPU still goes 100% usage and locks up and after that only the reset button works. (If u didn't set the CPU affinity. At least 2 cores)

I had a small hope with the reinstall thing. Deleted the game.
Manually deleted the remaining files from the appdata/mygames folder. (Why are u not cleaning up after uninstall?!?!?) Reinstalled the game. It worked for 1-1,5 days. I forgot about my CPU affinity and I got a hard lock at the start today...

5k post in 2 forum threads and still no fix....
I've done the exact same thing and have the exact same experience. Since using POEUncrasher and Vulkan rendering in the past 2 days I've experienced zero crashes. When before I was crashing multiple times just to get to the character select screen.

I checked the error message in POE 2 crash I had. When you google that specific error it leads to CPU overheating issues. The thing is my CPU is not heated. Software think its heated but I checked temp in system and its not even high.
Also yes CPU is supposed to work at 100%. BUT when your other software takes 20% then game cant take 100%. Thats why people are getting complete system freeze. Game takes more than its possible to take. Also thats why limiting 2 cores helps with it.

Dude you absolutely don't understand how modern operating systems work. Spreading fake information based on lack of knowledge is basically bad idea.

1. CPU is supposed to work at 100% load.

2. User mode applcation can consume 100% of your CPU without single issue. There are mechanisms in your OS ALLOWING to run the system consistently with 100% CPU load. Run TWO stress tests at the same time and you will be surprised.

3. If you run two applications that can consume 100% of your CPU, each of them will be able to load it up to 50%.

4. At maximum load you will not get freeze of your system because of #2.

5. The reason of the system freeze is WAY more fundamental than you can even imagine, because the OS is very complex under the hood. This is one of the reason why the problem STILL NOT fixed. Because it is VERY complex. it's not just let's limit the CPU usage by changing cores affinity or something like that, and problem will gone. It may help to some users, but it's not fix, it's workaround, and not very reliable.

Having this issue is a result of human error(s) in the system design on the ring 0 (kernel mode level) and / or both ring 3 (user mode) and ring 0. It may be related to the OS kernel, kernel mode services including drivers, UEFI or even CPU microcode. Moreover, it is very likely that there may be several reasons for one intersection and together they lead to a freeze. Your OS MUST be idiot-proof against the user mode applications not allowing to hard lock entire PC just because some arbitrary software made something unusual. This is the reason why most of your crashes don't lead to entire collapse but only to the small window with error message and the new entry in the journal.

This issues shows the potential vulerability which can be abused by malware just to crash your system by compiling the shader with very specific conditions.

This is why high CPU load is NOT primary reason of the total freezez. It's only contributing factor in the chain of events.

I have to intervene with this statement because what your saying is complete bs. and an attempt to spread misinformation.

What are your qualifications sir to make a statement that modern computers are supposed to run/work at 100% load? The truth is It can run a load at 100% but not at prolonged times, and im willing to bet millions of dollars against you just to prove your statements wrong.

Kindly provide the actual use-case studies stating your assumptions are fact.
In any case im not even going to bother the rest of your statements because it is completely BS.

Let me give you some friendly advice, a drop of knowledge is dangerous don't pretend you know what your talking about.

You think more people saying they have the issue is magically going to make them find a way to fix it faster?

Okay. Show me the proof of your words referencing to the official datasheets limiting the using of CPU on the certain periods of specific load. What is considered "prolonged times" and what is not? I accept only references to the hardware manufactures like Intel, AMD, your motherboard manufacturer, PSU manufacturer etc. Just show me these documents.

PS All my home PCs capable to run at 100% load for weeks. The servers and workstations even more - for months without reboot.

How many dead CPUs?
Did they do a post so everyone can reply just for the sake of complaining?

No, but if u quietly sit in the corner then nobody will know about it...
BUILT NEW RIG RIGHT BEFORE EA DROPPED - had about 10-15 crashes within the first day or two - uninstalled windows/ formatted then reinstalled windows 24h2 and have not touched this until it is fixed. Super scary building something and watching it hard freeze into oblivion. Stay safe!
