Hard crashing PC locks up

Win 11 24H2, i7-10700K, 1080ti

PoEUncrasher works well for me, and has almost completely eliminated my crashing issues. It still happens occasionally, but nowhere near as often as it used to, which was about a 50% chance during any loading screen.

I know you guys at GGG are not ignoring this issue like some seem to assume, and I hope you all enjoy your holidays as much as possible!

I received correspondence for my unrelated support ticket 17 days later, the day after I made the previous post here on the forums in this thread.

Running the nvidia hotfix that will be out in January didn't fix the problem. Decided to try and disable two affinity threads (I have 12 with a 7600x with smt on). The game did eventually freeze (first time played 5 maps and closed game, froze when I started it up the second time).

The interesting thing is that the game froze but you could still use windows. So i gave it a little more time to see if it would get through the freeze on its own or just crash. Than the pc completely locked up. So whatever PoE2 is doing when it begins locking up, it appears to be something like a memory leak?

Had probably 8-10 crashes in 8hours the other night, with one requiring a full reset/reboot. Running 5800X3D, 32GB, 1080Ti EVGA SC2, and Sabrent Rocket 4gen 2TB.

I suspect its 24H2 as that seems to be a common suspect, but here we are. If anyone knows an easyish way to roll back to 23h2 I am open to suggestions.

I’m having the same issue. The first week I played with all settings on maximum and had no lag or freezing problems. Now, I’m facing lag, freezing, and CPU issues. I’ve tried Dx11, Vulkan, Dx12, and set all settings to minimum, but nothing works. I hope GGG fixes this because I’m addicted to POE.

How did you get access to the new upcomming driver version, is that fix already merged to production or beta branch?

Same problem. PC locks up when changing zones and must reboot. Happens once an hour. I have 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 24H2. Finally turned off multi-threading and no more freezing, but my video tears when I move. It's not unplayable, but really hard to see anything. Hopefully, there will be a fix soon for my fellow AMD users.

This only seems to happen to me when I'm playing my warrior. I can play hours as any of my other characters, but I switch to my warrior and launch my second map, boom crash. Could it be a way to keep melee in check?
