Hard crashing PC locks up
damn so I thought limiting cores will at least save me from hard restart. After 2 weeks of that I got full freeze even with core 0 and core 1 limits to a point where I couldnt even shut down my pc with power button. What the actual f u did with POE 2 code?

These threads go through lunar phases of halfcocked solutions for a problem only GGG can fix. Enjoy the bandaid placebos because the only resolution you're going to get anytime soon is one of the New Year's variety.
As for me and my household, we will leave a bad review and wait for a fix. |

" This is not the issue people are having. |

Been messing around with PoE2 and Process Lasso Pro today and found some stuff that may or may not help.
One thing I noticed is that any time the game goes to load something and the GGG cog wheels show up my CPU usage spikes really high to around like 70% to 90%. I set the Lasso Pro program to cut out 4 cores to the game if it goes over 95% for more that 2 seconds and then return them after 5 seconds. My PC was still locking up at this point. Returning the cores after 2 seconds with the rest of the settings as above now just causes the game to crash and close down with out the need of a reboot. I also found that the Azak Bog has a higher than normal crash rate compared to the rest of the act 1 and act 2 zones so far. With the use of Volcanic Fissure, Herald of Ash, and Rolling Slam I was able to get the game to crash in the Azak Bog 100% of the time I use the above skills. If I stopped using Volcanic Fissure the crashing issue would stop but the zone still had a high CPU usage (cant remember how high). I am going to keep testing the issue to see if any other zones have this issue or if the game just keeps crashing/locking up when I am loading zones. On a side note I should say that 95% of my lock ups are happening when I am trying to go back to a town in any of the acts including the final one. None of them seam to be worse than any of the others but it's 100% the biggest culprit when the game crashes/locks up. |

" I don't think you have a clue what you're talking about tbh :P |

" I gave you the benefit of doubt but... Here we see another example of "those people". GGG year's end bonus crew is at it again with their private profile or in this case an achievement/challenge completion that is not proportional to their membership time, 4 page post history, and no item filters. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. |

" If it helps I can reliably crash the game via contagion spam. Not that not using contagion avoids the crash. But with contagion it is 100% and very immediate. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. |

" The game isn't really Early Access in its current state IMO. Maybe that's an unpopular opinion but it resembles a beta or even alpha in some aspects. It certainly isn't just the crashes or other technical problems. In the Feedback forum on here the fundamental design flaws are glaring. They are glossed over by most streamers, who, very interestingly, hide these problems to convince the rest of us to purchase it as though it were amazing. They get clicks, views, and sponsorships, so why not shill? Last edited by interbeing#5112 on Dec 30, 2024, 4:39:35 PM

The only workaround that has worked for me is disabling Engine Multithreading before every load screen. By every load screen I mean only when logging into my character, before every new zone and using a portal/waypoint. It's annoying, but I played for a solid 10 hours yesterday without a crash.

My old intel setup never had this issue and about 2 days ago i upgraded my pc to a ryzen setup. New setup is below:
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D RTX 3080 Win11 24H2 Symptom: Zoning into areas causes a gridlock on the entire PC, i can see the cursor moving extremely slowly. Cannot ctrl alt delete to shutdown poe, cannot alt f4, PC just locks up. Have to either do a power button hold to shutdown or press reset button. No BSOD, no CTD.
