How about you fix the major bug causing full system crashes. I mean come on you have a great product here, but this could be seriously damaging peoples hardware, myself included. Never had my PC crash from anything else I've ever done. But hey glad you had a good Holiday.

Ideally, collect all technical data, including dxdiag.log, your mdumps and other evidence if possible. Send the data to GGG, Microsoft, your motherboard and CPU/GPU manufacturers. And then sit and wait. Play something else, ArmA Reforger, modded Minecraft or just spend your time with your wife.

If you qualified enough, install the WDK and dig in. You will have hard times kd'ing the problem, at some point you will have to break the ToS because you don't have access to the source code but it's only an option. GL HF with it :)

I found that it was the Windows 11 Game Bar that Hard Crashed my PC

After I removed it with a PowerShell command.

After that I have had no issues

tell us if you had any hard crashes after
After ignoring POE entirely for 1 week - I checked back to see the lackluster patch notes this morning and was bummed. Scanned back through both threads and reddit/steam posts, and was inspired to chat with an AI for a minute. I provide to you now - an excerpt from that chat with no context provided for entertainment purposes only.

You're correct. The search results reveal that the Windows 11 24H2 update was released on October 1, 2024, while Path of Exile 2's Early Access launch was on December 6, 2024 - nearly two months later. This timeline strongly suggests that the crashing issues are primarily GGG's responsibility. The problems appear to be related to the game's own technical implementation, not the Windows update. The developer was aware of potential launch issues, as evidenced by their own tweets about "last minute crashes" and server instability on launch day1
. While some users later reported potential Windows 11 compatibility issues, the initial and most severe problems were present from the very first day of Early Access, indicating fundamental problems with the game's development and testing process. In short, the chronology points to Grinding Gear Games bearing the overwhelming majority of blame for the launch problems, not Microsoft.

In closing I would just like to say we are all frustrated and that frustration is born out of a love for POE. I still love POE. I just wish I could play it.
Hello there,

my 2c to that duscussion.
After 438 playing hours I had the problem with freezes only as long as I had Win 11 with the latest patch. Had older hardware with Windows 10 before -> absolutely no crashes.
Switched to new hardware with Win 11, PC-freezes on loading screens. Tried many fixes and ways to get rid of it, the best results I had were the tool to kill the game, but not the PC, but it was still not good enough. So for me it was and is working fine on Windows 10.
Even if the game crashes sometimes (~1-2 times in 6 hours playtime on 4k-res) with "D3-something" - Error, my PC never froze again and is running fine for more than 1 week after the switch from Win11 to Win10
and I'm playing the game on all max res with ~150-200 FPS.

AI is so AI.
Switching to Vulkan helped a bit, but PC still hard-locks from time to time.
This is starting to get embarrassing. No fix and barely any communication. These types of crashes do not seem to be good for my PC. I shouldn't be fiddling with affinity and CPU cores. I shouldn't be changing my POE setting for Engine Multithreading on map change.

Why is there no fix out or at least an announcement they are working on it?

I'm supposed to play a video game that spikes my brand new cpu to 100% on every core when I load into zones, locks my PC up and XD Just wait on a fix !!

Why isn't this being talked about more? Sure it does not affect every single user, only about 10%, but wow!! Are streamers just immune to this issue? I have a 4090 7800x3d and 64gb of ram, HOW are they avoiding this issue!?

My guess is that percentage of players suffering from this issue (me included) is too insignificant for their wallets to give a shit. It's been almost a month since release and the issue is pretty serious and still they do not care. Can't see why they would in the near future

This sounds so drastic, but i can't help think the same way.. I can understand not having a fix yet, this could be a major issue they are working hard to resolve rn, but damn, where's the communication they say they have with their community.. It's been 3 weeks since last response. It makes me mad that even if they post "were still investigating the issue" even without any hotfix, would be already a MAJOR POINT for them.. but no, not even that.. how do we know they even care for this
