Hard crashing PC locks up

Will this cpu lockup actually damage your computer components? I haven’t played in a while because I was getting tired of having to power off my system during lockups, but, wasn’t sure if there was actual risk to my machine versus annoyance.

It can, yeah.
Since this post covers the same topic, I'll post what I did in the other thread.

We are still very aware of this and appreciate your extended patience.

thank you, nice to see acknowledgement of the issue again
I have 2 cpu nonallocated to the game so I can run task manager when loading. What I have found is that the cpu tries to go to max when 1) initial load and 2) loading the initial hideout.

It is strange as it goes back down when either the character screen loads or the initial map loads. I have found that if you just wait in both cases for the cpu to go back to normal before selecting the next option then all appears ok.

It's as if its trying to load a bunch of information in parallel to have it in memory but doesn't have any limitation on it. If you go to the next step too fast it tries to use 100% of the cpu and locks up.

Thank you! Hopefully you guys can get it sorted soon. I would love to play with my buds :)
That GGG post will lower exiles' blood pressure by 20%, which is much needed considering how high it is from all the Mountain Dew and Doritos.

im glad i dont have this issue but i am experiencing disconnects during maps with multiple breaches. I lose all loot collected from the first one, i lose my portals, waystone and anything in my inventory i collected on that map.

Im sure the problems with pc freezing up is more troublesome.

I've lost my patience long time ago, but steam have denied my refund request due to 4 hours of "play" (I would not call it playing) time.

I don't know if this would help anybody else but it helped me. I also have the same issues freezing and CTD. Turning off multithreading reduced the frequency of freezing and CTD but resulting in low FPS.

However turning on multithreading AND triple buffering seems to resolve this issue for me. Will keep monitor if this actually the solution.

Edit:
I'm using Win1124H2
Latest NVIDIA driver 566.36

Just updated my bios on the Gigabyte Aorus x670 Elite AX from F6A to Current F32H

Reset my Nvidia Control panel settings to default and now trying what you said with triple buffering on with multithreading on.

I'll report back on first crash if it happens.

Edit: no crashes for a little under 1 hour 1/2 gaming time. will report back tomorrow.
