Hard crashing PC locks up

I'm getting the same problem. Game has become unplayable. This is very dangerous for my PC hardware. I've had to do at least 5 hard restarts. The last thing that caused the issue was me going to Mud Flats. Absolutely unacceptable.

Windows fucked up terrible...since 24H2 i cant even Alt+tab whitout blackscreen for 3-7 seconds.

Now Poe2 is Crashing all the time. I will wait for a Patch, cuz its impossible to Play now.

Hope GGG answers soon, also poe1 started freezing after the windows update for me.

Still crash on specific maps like Venom Crypts or Jiquani's Machinarium

New PC

7800x3d, 4090

I get really high spikes in CPU usage on most load screens(I don't think it has ever frozen when going to my hideout), then a hard PC crash. I am forced to hard reset the PC each time.

I am on the newest Win 11 update (though I did try and roll this back with to no effect) and Nvidia Driver.

I have no issues on any other games at all. Hard crash is only when playing POE 2.


This started about a week after launch for me and has consistently crashed the PC during load screens. Sometimes this is fast - within 15 minutes of playing. Other times I played for hours before it finally happened. But each load screen sort of stutters and struggles like it might be about to freeze. The cpu usage on hw monitor reports things like 112% usage for a few second while trying to load a map or settlement.

I have slowly stopped playing over the last few weeks because I hadn't heard about this being address/fixed but I tried logging in today and froze quickly this time after just a few load screens.

I remember having the first hard crash when loading into Clearfell on the first day when the EA dropped back in November. The last time I played my pc crashed even when using BES and disabling two cores. I'm running on a 4080 Super, 7800x3d and 24H2.

I really don't want to install POEUncrasher and rely on third-party software just to play Poe 2 – especially since every other game runs flawlessly on my system..

I hope this gets fixed soon. I really enjoyed my 50 hours of playtime and would love to try out version 0.1.1. :(

Was having this issue back in the days after launch, then seems like it went away.
Now is back.

After showing loading screen, gears start turning, then slow down, shortly after - total system freeze.
Hard reboot.

How are they taking so long to fix this? its already been more than a month. what are these devs doing lol

stopped disabling multithreading on load screen cos i thought the patch would have fix it, but nope still crashes

Have you tried changing to DX11?
