Hard crashing PC locks up

Maybe for you, I crash every 5 minutes (if I am lucky enough to actually get to make it far enough to actually select my character). Most of the time I crash to desktop before i can hit login

i9-14900KF
MSI 4090
128GB DDR5 RAM

Latest nVidia Drivers, running Win 11 24H2
Updating windows and rolling it back did not fix the crashes.

Did a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04. This did not fix the issue either.

Same issue, 2 different OS. Hmmm...

Tested both:
Stand alone (Lutris)
Steam (official proton)(GE proton)

No other game tested has issues starting or running. No other game tested causes ramdom crashes.

Every combination you can think of in settings.

Vulcan or DirectX12, nothing works.

NOTHING short of physically limiting the cores used or their usage percentage seems to have any effect. And even this only increases the time between crashes, never eliminating them entirely.

Same crashing issues as the rest.
I'm still on 23h2.
Ryzen 7700x, rtx 4070 ti super.
Fix this!!!
Peoples computers are being destroyed by your game!

This thread is NOT about crashing to desktop. This thread is named "HARD CRASHING PC LOCKS UP". What do you think that means?
I dunno I am on Fedora right now but I also played the game on PopOS and Bazzite and it was stable. On Fedora I completed the whole campaign from act 1 to act 3 twice to level up another character. The only bug I got was with the sound fucking up when viewing those tutorials when you click a skill, it made a very high pitched loud sound that broke my ears.

Intel i7 9700k
RTX 2700 Super Nvidia driver 565
32gb DDR4
Fedora 41 Kernel 6.13
well this is strange but some good news for me at least, after messing around with some BIOS settings and redownloading the latest AMD Ryzen chipset drivers from the amd website, I now have not experienced a single crash in soon over 3 days, not even on loading screens and before this I was crashing ALL the time,

not sure if recent small patches to game also helped but anyway my system is:

AMD 7800x3d CPU
2x16gb ddr6000 RAM
1tb NVME disk
RTX 4060 TI GPU
win11 23h2 version (with latest updates+cumulative 23h2 update)
nvidia driver 572.47 currently

(I was crashing on both 24h2 and 23h2 before I started messing around, rollbacked to 23h2 to be on safe side for now)

what I changed was first of all I got the latest chipset drivers from AMD website for ryzen motherboards, first it did a scan to see if I needed updating and some components were already latest version but some were not,

after the chipset update I went into my BIOS and tried some stuff, I turned SMT/Hyperthreading back ON (was running OFF before since it felt better in other games) and removed all my manual overclock stuff, and put all the overclock stuff to auto/default like asus performance boost/medium load boost options and so on, then the last thing I changed was to set "CPPC" to "Driver", if ryzen chipset drivers are installed I think with this option instead of default they will control core scheduling instead of windows, or something like that,

edit: I also cleared the cache / shader cache of the game and windows own shader cache, currently using "unlimited" on shader cache size in nvidia driver options,

anyway I am not sure what exactly of this steps fixed the crashing or if it was even just one of the small patches last days that was coincidence with my messing with settings and bios, but I have not crashed now in over 3 days many hours of gaming per day, where before I could not go like 30 mins without a crash (mostly load screens)...

now I can run vulkan or dx12 without any crashes on either but running vulkan now for past 3 days, a little bit better FPS for me than dx12, anyway hope this helps someone, if you currently are using a manual overclock or manual bios settings regarding boost/core behavior and SMT/hyperthreading try setting them all back to default, even if other games work perfectly with your current custom settings,

PS. *for semiadvanced users* I had good results with smoothness of the game and removing stutters by enabling high precision event timer and force using it in windows instead of the default invariant TSC timer, same minimum/average/maximum fps but picture more smooth/less input delay as well it seems, I think this is not recommended for intel CPUs though, not related to crashes anyway //

PPS try clearing your cache/shader cache as well ! both the games own cache and windows shader cache, if someone with similar system to me still crashing feel free to ask me for my settings or anything
