Hello everyone i am making a follow up on my first post here from yesterday.
I can confirm that i have completely eliminated all freezes/hard crashing for myself, However it required a few specific things to be changed. In windows disable "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" under advanced graphics settings and then restart pc. In game set renderer to vulkan, Vsync to adaptive, nvidia reflex off, fsr no upscaling, foreground and background fps to no higher then 60fps, and everything else defualt. Setting fps cap above 60fps immediatly started causing my pc to freeze again. I would recommend anyone experiencing pc freeze after updating windows to try this exact setup. If you try this just make sure that nothing is being written to your drive at the time just incase your pc still freezes, as it can cause corrupted files. Other than that there should be almost no risk to your actual pc hardware. I hope this helps everyone, and i wish you all good luck! Last edited by maclane#2974 on Dec 24, 2024, 12:55:54 PM

" You're absolutely full of shit, you didn't test 30 games. Also, if you do a bit of research you'll see that there are many games that have issues with 24H2 and even Microsoft has communicated this themeselves. I really don't understand why people in this thread are so damn stubborn. Just downgrade and you'll see for yourself how the issue is resolved. it's.that.simple |

Hey exiles. I just sat on my toilet and thought of everyone who crashes like me and needs a full pc reset after spending 30$. Feels good to be here after 2-3 weeks, right where I belong, as I might as well have flushed $30 down the toilet along with my goods.
Merry Christmas everyone! |

" PoEUncrasher doesn't help everyone because some people (like me) need to disable more than 2 cores to get the game running. I park 9 out of 16 cores to run this game. Everyone's system has different limits and this game is pushing everyone's systems to their limits. Some people can run the game with just 2 cores disabled. Some people need to disable more. I don't know if uncrasher can be configured to park more cores or not? " Can you explain how I get this issue with Win 10? Can you explain how people in this thread with Linux get it? Can you explain how people who never had "upgraded" to Win 11 24H2 has this issue? Also I have explained the difference between Win 11 24H2's problem and the one we are experiencing with PoE2. Multiple times. In best case scenario you are spreading misinformation, at worst you are a troll. In case you want to educate yourself: That particular Windows 11 problem is that Windows' "New Feature" was blocking the program's access to system resources, therefore crashing the program but never crashing the PC itself. The problem PoE2 has is that the program is hogging all available system resources due improper usage of system APIs, therefore crashing the program AND the PC itself. (Technically it crashes the OS because OS can no longer get the resources it has to in order to function properly). Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

So far using POE uncrasher and turning off nvidia reflex has completely stopped all CTD's for me. POE uncrasher for loading screen CTD's and apparently nvidia reflex specifically was causing my out of loading screen CTD's which include the Direct X texture not loading crash as well as CTD's with no error screen.
For anyone using POE uncrasher that is still crashing to desktop make sure you are running it as administrator otherwise it can't change your game priority to real time to prevent the crash. |

" A user space process can overheat a CPU leading to a blue screen. Anyway a lot of people can still move their cursor when the freeze occurs, they just can't click. And the cursor rendering changes when you move outside of the PoE window. |

It seems PoE 2 doesn't support AMD CPU that well, my gig constantly frozen after gaming for about 5 - 10 mins while both CPU/GPU temp at 40/60 C respectively, need hard reset. Meanwhile my fr gig running Intel CPU and they are completely fine. The game literally unplayable for me atm.
