POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
Hello. I have also suffered from PC freezing but now it seems that it does not happen to me anymore.
I have Windows 11 24H2 with 16GB RAM and an RTX 3060Ti and the problem comes from the use of the CPU cores. Before I had all the cores unparked but now I have returned to the default values of Windows (They are 0%) using Unpark-CPU. https://coderbag.com/assets/downloads/disable-cpu-core-parking/Unpark-CPU-App.zip You only run it once and set it to 0%. Restart the PC and you never run it again. I also configured in BIOS, to turn the cores on or off as needed. When you are playing, the game is not using all cores with this method, it does not freeze since it has at least 2 free cores or more to run other processes. PD: I use Vulkan renderer. I have not test with DirectX12. Last edited by Risesa#6372 on Dec 29, 2024, 2:24:34 AM

Disabling core affinity on core 0 and 1 - 0 effect
Disabling multithreading - 0 effect Disabling HDR and setting all settings to the lowest possible - 0 effect Switching to NVIDIA Studio driver - 0 effect Switching from DX12 to Vulcan - 0 effect On a i7 13700kf & 4080 Game was running perfectly fine up till somewhere around 23-24. Not gonna download sketchy .exe's to try to "fix" a GGG issue, so the only option i have is to leave a negative review and touch grass meanwhile. Endgame is waiting for you, but you're still on the loading screen

I really stopped playing the game because of this... Suddenly my pc also started to be slower, have some lag spikes and other restarts on other games. I really do have the feeling this damaged my PC. No cap.

" Why you say it's not acknowled, when it's on the known bug list. |
|
I downgraded windows 11 to 23h and downloaded the standalone client from the poe website. Fixed the issue for me, no crashes any more

This problem got better for me after removing CPU affinity for a few cores and reducing the amount of apps running concurrently.

" Vulnerability is one part of the equation, the more important part is the exploiter. And sometimes "vulnerability" is due to the alternative being more inconvenient for a good-faith user. Think it like this: You can simply not put windows when building a house, this way you can avoid burglars coming in. There is no longer a "windows vulnerability" in this case. But not having a window in your home is not really a desirable outcome for the regular people so we make do with creating closable windows, putting window guards etc... At this point you are reasonably protected and if a burglar were to weld open those irons well... That's on them. PoE2 is a bit different. In this analogy PoE2 is your mate's 5 year old kid who is running in your house, breaking things. You really want to spend time with the kiddo because you were abroad while he was growing up so you only had some videos and pictures but at one point the damages rack up and you wonder if he needs professional help. When you ask your mate, his wife evasively mumbles something about conduct disorder but assures you that this only seems to happen in homes with people in it. At this point your windows being open is not related to the damages you have incurred. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
