POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I downgraded windows 11 to 23h and downloaded the standalone client from the poe website. Fixed the issue for me, no crashes any more
This problem got better for me after removing CPU affinity for a few cores and reducing the amount of apps running concurrently.

So when Stuxnet was bricking Iranian centrifuges it was actually Windows and Siemens in the wrong?

Yes. it's called security vulnerability. Never heard about that? And it works like a swiss cheese. When we're working on kms / drivers we always take into account that its routines can be called with shitty unfiltered data to provide the attacker the advantage and control over the entire system. But if your system is complex and sophisticated enough, you can't be sure you checked everything on all layers.

Vulnerability is one part of the equation, the more important part is the exploiter. And sometimes "vulnerability" is due to the alternative being more inconvenient for a good-faith user. Think it like this: You can simply not put windows when building a house, this way you can avoid burglars coming in. There is no longer a "windows vulnerability" in this case. But not having a window in your home is not really a desirable outcome for the regular people so we make do with creating closable windows, putting window guards etc... At this point you are reasonably protected and if a burglar were to weld open those irons well... That's on them.

PoE2 is a bit different.

In this analogy PoE2 is your mate's 5 year old kid who is running in your house, breaking things. You really want to spend time with the kiddo because you were abroad while he was growing up so you only had some videos and pictures but at one point the damages rack up and you wonder if he needs professional help. When you ask your mate, his wife evasively mumbles something about conduct disorder but assures you that this only seems to happen in homes with people in it.

At this point your windows being open is not related to the damages you have incurred.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.

It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that you guys have not fix or acknowledged this issue yet. Im done with this game.

It has been acknowledged and is being looked into. You can see that very easily by filtering by dev posts on this forum.

I mean... ok yeah technically they did acknowledge it. With poor communication about whats the cause and whats being done about it. Leaving us to risk it, or guess on fixes or work arounds. And then they dipped for 2 weeks for the holidays... If this was blizzard there would be outrage. When its tencent (GGG) its fine..?
Their response is bellow the standards of what a company who just made $30m+ beta testing their game should be. They are not a little indy company anymore and do not deserve some sort of free pass for a massive f**K up.
I know there is plenty of people already reporting it, more data helps to understand better.

I was monitoring the cpu/gpu cuz I thought my crashes were due overheating, but I was wrong :)

100% cpu usage :/

I just uninstall the latest windows 11 updates to test, if I find anything different I will update this reply or add a new one.

PC Specs:
Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 2070 Super
MB ASUS Prime B450M-A
4X 8GB Corsair DDR4

Not 100% - higher, from my tests - 137% was the peak
this is a core problem with their proprietary engine and they DELIBERATLY dont adress it ... and are even refusing to apply at least a simple workaround by offering a option to automatically disable engine multithreading during loading screens and on loading the game itself.

Theres thousands and thousands of players affected by this, and only a small fraction will report about it, and now look at the size of this thread and do some statistical predictions.

I have this crash for YEARS in Poe1 and thats one of the main reason why i quit the game .

To pretend that they have no idea what this is about and to act with standard requests for DXDIAG files which NEVER have any useful information beyond the most basic crap is just deflecting and stalling. What the frack is this .. no way the never encountered that themselves in all this time internally playing their builds.
