" No. Poe 2 has shitty code but this is the reason why we have all those abstraction layers protecting the system integrity. Both Linux and Windows have shared code in some parts like NVIDIA / AMD drivers, Win32 API used by Proton / WINE if you run the game via them. If your operating system including 3rd party kernel stuff failed to sustain, there are serious questions to ask to the developers of that stuff, not the (probably) faulty user mode application. " I am on Windows 10. I have this crash since day 1. There are people on Windows 11 23H2 here, they crash too. There are people on Linux, they also crash. The only common variable is that we are all playing PoE2 and tried to change zones in the game. Also I don't get the point of sending this link as it does not provide anything of value in terms of information. "As of the latest PoE 2 patch I am now having this issue on my Steam Deck. The last time I checked, most certainly, it doesn't run on Windows 11 24H2. I can tell it is the exact same issue because it behaves exactly like it does on my other machines. The game freezes during a loading screen, the CPU spikes to 100% utilization and 103°C in the process and the device is completely unresponsive. You can't even power it down in that moment, it is only when the CPU eventually hits 105°C that it automatically shuts off. This is an insane amount of heat and no other game has ever managed to do that to my device. But yeah, surely - must be a 24H2 issue! My ass. |

How is this not fixed yet, wow!

" I wanted to say that this problem is primarily blamed on POE2, but it looks like the problem is 70% 24h2 and 30% POE2, but the 30% are trying to defend 24h2 that it is a POE2 problem. :) |
