POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
The 0.1.0C patch didn’t fix the crash. I launched the game, and it crashed again. I noticed that when this happens, my CPU usage hits 100%.

I am going to try this to limit cpu usage in windows directly and see if it change something...

Same problem here. 7800x3d - 4070 Super - 32GB DDR5
I guess it's game problem with AMD platform when CPU hits 100% because it's not only 7800x3d or 9800x3d problems itself as i thought becuase people have same issues with even older/different CPUs from AMD. No other games does this because even 2nd monitor works perfectly when CPU goes 100% while preparing shaders or loading other stuff. I also had this freeze in PoE 1 when i opened it few days before early access, but when i played league at first weeks everything was fine. Direct12 and Vulkan seems to having same issue because it's related to CPU freeze. I think they did some engine update that have this issue. At first i thought it might be issue because undervolting doesn't work good in this particual case when i had PBO -30, so i removed it and for first start of a game it worked good, but when i restarted a game, then it freezed again. " This seems to work and is easy. I started the games well, and tried to teleport 5 times without any issues. i couldn't do that this morning. I limited to 90%. |

9800x3d
3080ti 64gb @ 6000MT/s ram Windows 11 24H2 Having the exact same issues. Go to load an instance and it crashes the whole PC, sometimes enough stuff happens on screen it will crash the whole game. I've had several errors including, "BufferD3D12::BufferD3D12()CreatePlacedResourceX Failed" and Kernal.dll errors around this game. Tried limiting the game by cores, tried Vulkan, Tried Dx11, etc. The issue always returns. Last edited by Ladicius777#4263 on Dec 10, 2024, 9:11:17 AM

Still happening. 2 for 2 tries this morning. For anyone experiencing, these instructions prevent you from having to hard restart your computer. Freezes still happen, but you maintain control to ctrl-alt-delete and close the program.
Temporarily Set Affinity for Running Program Start the Program: Open the program you want to configure. Open Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Find the Program: Under the Processes tab, locate your program (e.g., myprogram.exe). Set Affinity: Right-click on the program and select Go to details. In the Details tab, right-click on the program's process and choose Set affinity. Uncheck all cores except the two you want to use (e.g., leave cores 0 and 1 unchecked if your system has more than 2 cores). Apply Changes: Click OK to save the changes. This will only last for the current session. In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

" No need of that, just do this, it's easier and works perfectly for me now. Just limit CPU at 90%. https://www.itechtics.com/limit-cpu-usage/ edit: ah shit, it crashed again during cinematic between act 1 and act 2. So absolutly nothing works for me. Even the affinity thing don't work. I just stop even trying at this point. Last edited by Kaerio#3235 on Dec 10, 2024, 9:44:35 AM

Today`s patch worsen the situation. Now, to initially launch the game and load char in the location it takes 4-5 times to run the game. Like 4 times it freezes and only once goes through.
As a work-around, I've set an affinity to not use 2 CPU threads and it seems to work in 80% of the cases where I'm able to close frozen POE, in other 20% a HARD PC RESET is still required. This is getting annoying when I'm afraid to TP back in town to deal with gear. |

Same here on an 7800x3d. I ended up setting my CPU to 90% to fix it.
