POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I am having the same problem after about the 6th hang up in the last three days. I am going to have to stop playing until this is fixed. But, I have had a happy 150 hours so I wont change my review on steam to negative until a week has passed. But I will change what I wrote to warn about this problem.
If you're playing Path of Exile 2 and have been struggling with crashes or complete freezes, you're not alone. I ran into the same issue, and after some trial and error, I found a fix that worked for me. The problem seemed to be related to the auto-overclocking feature of my CPU.

I’m using a Ryzen processor, and after disabling the auto-overclocking feature and setting the CPU to its standard settings, the game started running smoothly again. No more crashes or freezes! It might not be the perfect solution for everyone, but it's worth a shot if you're dealing with these issues.
Hi all, just a question i would like to check. Did your NVIDIA App optimize the game?

I reverted the NVIDIA app optimization and the game is running so much better, no more frame drops and stutters

What i have noticed is i updated my drivers a day before the crashing started, it then overwrote my game settings to "optimize" the game

The setting in the game, there is nothing to turn on AA with my current selection set, yet NVIDIA app has the option to off. Maybe it forces AA on to the game or something? i dont know where its finding the AA function.

Even with AA off in the NVIDIA app my game clearly has AA enabled when i play

This is just something odd i saw, might be nothing. But the game stopped crashing since i verified steam files and reverted this setting, been 11 hours last night and 6 hours so far today

I found work around for fix it. It's work for me

My PC 5800x + 3070 run on Windows 11 24H2

1. Open POE2
2. Go to task manager
3. Click details and find POE process
4. Right click on POE process and then click on set affinity
5. Disable 2 CPU on list(ex. i disable CPU14,CPU15)
ุ6. Right click on POE process and then click on set priority to real time
7. Enjoy

i hope you realize leaving your priority on real time the entire time will damage your pc. it's not healthy at all. don't do this. you can fry your cpu or worse.

No, it absolutely does NOT hurt your CPU to set affinity.

Stop fear mongering because its a janky "fix" (which doesnt always work).

If your disabled cores take too much multithreading processing away from the remaining cores, the game just lags. The CPU doesn't overheat or overvolt, there's literally no physical damage being done by tuning cores off. You cannot "fry" your CPU by making it slower.

I'll throw in my .02 but he's talking about process priority, not cpu core affinity. I don't think setting POE 2 process to "Real time" will damage anything but it may starve other critical system processes and may lead to unresponsiveness. I could be 100% wrong but that's how I understand it. We shouldn't even have to be talking about any of this - come on GGG.
When can we even expect any response from the game developers? This is ridiculous.

first of all i am not talking about affinity i am talking about setting a priority to realtime for path of exile. you need to learn to read.

secondly that thread you posted is like from 2010 which is outdated af and is not about setting priority but disabling cores in affinity which i am again not talking about.

ive been working repairing pcs for more than 20 years now, if you believe to know more than me than just leave it on realtime and find out by yourself.

but yeah a 1000000% it can cause damages or issues. by setting it to realtime you are causing a starvation of the system resources. you are monopolizing the CPU. this will prevent other essential tasks like cooling disk graphics card and or input/output to stop working properly because of lack of resources.

let's not even get started about all the data corruption possibilities system freezes ssd fries or the risk of simply overheating because you decidated 99% of system resources to poe.

i could continue forever. basically either you believe the random chatter who says it's fine to use or you trust someone who has been working in that department and has repaired thousands of computers at this point because people think it is fine to do. IT IS NOT.

We won't, they don't care.

Have to second this. Actions speak louder than words. I finally gave in and downloaded PoEUncrasher last night after I had a software developer friend take a look and he approved that it’s legit. I got roughly 2 hours of game time in and just had a sour taste in my mouth the whole time. Hard to enjoy
