I think I found a real permanent fix!

I ended up deleting all the folders inside both "ShaderCacheD3D12" and "ShaderCacheVulcan" (just in-case) in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile 2.

Loaded up the game (this will cause it to create new files and folders inside those ShaderCache folders) without using an uncrasher and going between waypoints to see how it goes and haven't crashed and/or freeze since then!

My guess that maybe one or more of the files were corrupted for some reason that even Steam couldn't fix?

Nevertheless, it worked!

Hope this does for everyone.


The loading phase between areas seems to be faster also. I'll test it better during the evening

TO Everyone:

Could you please follow the steps below and attach here a copy of game's log? You can find it into "Path of Exile 2\logs" open the file "Client.txt"

Step1: Note the exact time when freeze occurs
Step2: Open the .txt mentioned above and attach here the result (To be sure, you have to look for [WARN] & [CRIT] strings

This could be useful to see if there is a common pattern that cause the problem

Amalgamating a few of my other posts here for more context in one place.

I played for over a month on EA release with no issues. Probably not even 5 total game crashes in that time. I took a break for a few weeks, and in that time I had some issues with other games so I updated windows to 24h2.

After this, coming back to the game led to frequent system crashes in loading screens at seemingly random intervals. This occurs in PoE 1 and 2. I have never had frequent crashing issues like this in 10 years of playing PoE 1.

I reverted back from the 24h2 update and this issue went away ENTIRELY. I played for a few days with zero crashes, until Windows decided that it would auto update back to 24h2, and the issues has now returned...
Any fix yet, tried some many stuff such as disabling cores, BES limiting and stuff, but still face constant freezing

Greetings fellow crashers,

There may be hope- for most or for some. In the past couple of days, I have gamed and grinded where, in some instances, I thought my pc would crash. I have been proven wrong in the these past three days after hours of gameplay. Through hundreds of research, the one and only option that have worked for me without rolling back to 23H2... is... dun dun dun... setting pathofexile.exe as a high priority in task manager before logging in... Give it a try. Hope it works.

I give up. I am not sure why i persevered for so long but now, i cannot even load the game. It just crashes right from start up and I must hard reboot my whole computer
