POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
|
I was able to play before todays patch, i had some crashes (to desktop) like couple of times during the day. but after the patch, i couldn't even get to the login screen after 7 or 8 attempts. after more than 10 tries, i got to my hideout. As soon as i opened the atlas, back to desktop. game is completely unplayable for me at this point. Any suggestions of how i can troubleshoot?

" wrong thread. if you aren't forced to shut down your pc via pressing the button, you aren't having the same issue as this thread is talking about. |

" Whats even going on here? Is this a joke. I know uncrasher don't work. Because I have tried it, and yeah, it prevents some freezes, but its very unreliable. I haven't seen anyone say that they disable multithreading on every load screen and still freeze. In fact it is impossible to make the whole computer freeze when there is only 1 core working on the game? Right? That would make total sense. The reason the computer freeze is because the game uses 100% of all cores at the same time and there is nothing left for the os. Right? You understand that? so if the game is not using all cores, the game cant lock up the computer. is this simple enough for you? If it prevents all crashes? maybe not, but I have not crashed once while having this disabled. I am in fact entitled to play this game without risk damaging my computer. I paid to play this game, and I expect basic support back from the developer that I game my money. I can't even get my money back if I want to. Most ppl in here just kindly ask GGG to update us on the matter. Most ppl are not toxic. I asked why they are waiting until later this week to push out an update that makes the game playable for god knows how many ppl. Is that is being toxic? what? It looks like they were ready to release it quite fast anyway. I guess later this week was more like "tomorrow". Oh, well... Last edited by snurrfint#5780 on Feb 5, 2025, 8:35:53 AM

" My plan is to evaluate it over the course of a week. If it feels like the game isn't "crashy", then I'll take the training wheels off. Yes, I understand that it's uncrasher being predictive...maybe too predictive...but safe kicks sorry in the bad place every time for me. |

This patch seems to have fixed the complete pc freeze problem for me.
Previously, the game would crash after about 3-10 map loads. I have been loading a large number of (100+) new map instances and have not had the freeze occur again. It's still early, but the patch seems to have solved the freezing issue for me. Before, I had to downgrade and stay on Windows 11 23H2 to avoid this issue. After this patch released I decided to update my windows to 24H2 to test if this patch works. Everything seems to be working great so far. Will post an update if I freeze again. Still getting crashes.. Loading screens and in map.
Fresh install of windows 11 a week ago, 9800x3d, 32gb ram, 4080 super. Averaging 2 maps between crashes. Only upside on this is i don't have to restart the game 4 times to load in after a crash anymore.. |

" Update to 24H2 and try, maybe it works. Still, I think this patch is for the people who got their PC freezed during loading screens, not random crashes to desktop. Seems like another bug for you. Last edited by MiguelFg#3451 on Feb 5, 2025, 10:34:10 AM
