POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" sorry to break it to you but in poe1 this exact thing happened years ago and its still not fixed so yeah im losing hope |
|
Hopefully i help someone out there. I was stubborn too so I can understand you dont wanna replace your ram or don't think your hardware is at fault. Good luck, im going to go enjoy my game with zero freezes or "fix-it" duct tape methods lol.

same with mine, passed all those test as well. 9800X3D, 4090 gpu, built it myself a few weeks ago. Had zero issues with mem test, stress test, or any other game. Swapped memory to compatible verified memory in my manual and viola it was fixed.

" mine is verified compatible and still crashes so yeah. maybe you got lucky. |

Yo we can't send PM to dev, agaaain

Please fix the damn game. Tired of not being able to play without having to troubleshoot a dozen diff things and nothing works. Really the worst launch of all time for any video game I’ve seen in 30 years

Same problem, game hangs PC randomly on loading something, which can be anything, opening inventory, new zone, changing skill, no matter.
And no, it's not PC problem, it's game problem. Didn't hang in lots of games for years, and keep playing new and old releases constantly. So this the only game that doing that. |

Same issue here.
Both in PoE 1 and PoE 2. Machine 9800X3D with 4070 Super and a Samsung SSD 990 PRO SSD. OS: Windows 11 24H2 Core scheduler setting: default (0x4 Root scheduler) Nvidia driver: 566.14 What i tried and i do: - I disable at least two cores (as task affinity), so when my game freezes, my OS is still reacting properly. - Disable multithreading does not fix the issue. Even after restart, while in loading screens the game seems to utilize all available cores (?). So it seems this setting has no influence on loading behaviour. Next thing i try is to run the game from a slow old HDD. Maybe there is some race condition involved, where the speed of the SSD is able to saturate all other resources (CPU/GPU/whatever) through fast Shader loading and compilation/texture loading, which otherwise would not be the case (?). What sometimes even happens: Sometimes even the login screen is not loading and its freezing up... I'm just always hoping I'm fast enough to have set the CPU affinity first. |

But let's be real. Since they said "some" players experiencing crashing with such a dismissive tone, I'm being led to believe that they knew about the crashing very well going into the Early Access. One clever tactic to handle surprisingly high scaling demand is to introduce PC-breaking bugs that have players messing in their settings or restarting their PCs (or ordering new ssds for that matter) and not playing the game.
They didn't say anything about What causes the crashes? How close is GGG to resolving these issues? I mean why else would they not acknowledge how disruptive these crashes are and express genuine concern for the players affected? No news on upcoming patches, and a timeline to address these issues. I feel very deceived after seeing that mister smart-ass developer talk so charmingly on youtube, where are you now? |
