Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
I will wait for GGG response, I hope there will be one...

IF i turn off multithread option the stutter basically stops but my FPS goes down to 25, When I turn on Multithread my FPS goes back up but the game starts to stutter every once in a while.
This is extremely frustrating and I dont think ill get to play as 25 fps is not acceptable on my pc rig and neither is the stuttering with multithread turned on. Ive tried both the steam and stand alone clients, ive also tried to fresh install GPU drivers. Last edited by skesoul#4309 on Dec 10, 2024, 10:54:25 AM

" Its more or less like the wow forum. They might be reading some of it but you normally wont see them respond in any way (actively) more or less passively from updates and patches. Because I men there so many posts about the games performance and that some are unable to play it. |

I've been playing with lag spikes/stuttering for a couple days now. Switched to windowed mode, and it's gone. Not the greatest fix, but give it a shot.
Update: Disregard. It's back. :/ Last edited by schraday#6715 on Dec 10, 2024, 2:38:02 PM

They need to address this - why wasn’t predictive added at the start? Forcing lockstep makes the game unplayable for a lot of people.

From what I've read on this thread, it seems there is 2 different causes for the stuttering people are seeing and are posting about. One is hardware related where people are finding some solutions with disabling multithread or switching to Vulkan and whatnot. The other is network related. I myself get a solid 120fps with minor dips to around 110 however, the game is unplayable for me because for some unknown reason my ping jumps from 50 to 500+ every second or so. I have the same issue in POE 1 the predictive network mode makes it playable. It's only speculation on my part, but either GGG has WAY too few servers to support the player base, or they're using the exact same servers for both games. Probably the latter and for some reason some peoples internet just doesn't sync well with their lockstep servers. Pretty unfortunate to spend money on this and then just have to sit back and pray that GGG actually fixes it instead of doing nothing but tweaking the game balance. I'll likely try to get a refund until this issue is resolved.

" Not really only that but for me its like the shader spike causing the stuttering however the ping/ms never spiked the entire time. I also tried all the different ingame settings but nothing reduces or eliminates those shader stuttering. Vulkan is not working one bit and is even worse, and for rendering its either NIS(default) or Dlss only on performance every other thing makes it spike like crazy. Again for me its not a ping related issue because that never spiked one bit but rather the shader going wild. |

" Yeah, they've done something with multithread...disabling it removes stuttering but fps becomes miserable 15-19 most of the time. Last edited by Vindold#5974 on Dec 10, 2024, 11:55:54 AM
