Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
I am playing the game on two PC's at home. Both are running AMD 5950x CPU with 128 GB of RAM. One machine is with 1070ti, no lags at all.
The other PC is with 4070Ti SUPER (latest drivers 566.36) and the game is unplayable due to massive lag, which looks like is caused by the server on the other side, judging by the in-game monitoring graph. Both PC's are with LAN connection, 800Mb/s speed, so it is not my internet connection the issue. The massive stuttering and lag happens only in POE2. Hopefully GGG are aware of this problem and are working on a fix. Can we get info what might be the cause of this issue ? Last edited by stefanaki#6858 on Dec 25, 2024, 4:36:21 AM

" Update: this fixed it for me. Thanks to KingHadu#3474 for the tip. On the problem machine I had overclocking on the CPU going on. Last edited by stefanaki#6858 on Dec 25, 2024, 5:09:04 AM

Don't know how about you guys but it's been few days without stuttering for me. Just giving a heads up

Also having the exactly same issue as everyone exactly as happend in poe 1. The game just goes from stable 60 fps on the first time u play to 10 to 15 fps after 20 minutes or the next time u open the game. Is not a computer issue every single time the game end downloading shaders go to max cpu usage and drop fps to 5 and latency spikes to 400 or 1000. The game is complete unplayable

Hello to everyone.
Ryzen 2700x 3060ti 32gb RAM 60fps stable Network latency graph show segmented line all the way up which makes the game unplayable. Peace. |

The same issue. stable fps but latency jumps from 30 to 300ms

For me, PoE 2 is basically unplayable in the evening. Unbearable lags\stutter due to network issues. The worst thing is that I'll happily blame connection on my end, but I think it is not the case.
Here are some thoughts to prove my point. 1) On the login screen, the closet gateway for me is Moscow (2-3ms). When I play the game, in hub areas(towns and my hideout), F1 network graphs show pretty much the same numbers. Whenever I go to some playable areas (maps or campaign), 9 times out of 10 I get an instance with median ping around 40-50-60ms, but with large spikes from 120-200 ms every second. So despite the info that instance is in Moscow realm, physically servers are located somewhere in Germany or Netherlands or UK. During campaign, I can create new instances by ctrl clicking waypoints. If I'm lucky, I get a local instance with 2-3ms ping and can enjoy the game. But if I die, despite the fact that layout and mini-map stays the same, the server usually changes and, like I said in 9 times out of 10 I end up in the same laggy mess. In maps it is even worse - can't create new instances there. I either get lucky or die in lags. 2) On its own, stable 50-60ms connection is ok, I remember that I was playing PoE1 with same (sometimes even worse) numbers before Moscow gateway was a thing, and it was totally fine. Now, in PoE2 it is still fine, but I have to play the game late at night or other unpopular time of day. In rush hours it is unplayable. 3) I've checked netstat -b -n command to check IPs to which PoE client connects. Then I've manually checked ping to those IPs. And it all checks out - when in-game graphs shows 2-3s, cmd ping shows the same, when in-game graph shows 40ms, cmd ping shows the same. However, cmd ping shows stable 40ms ping without much deviation, while in-game graph looks like a saw, with large spikes. 4) Right at the same time I've tried to play PoE1 and all my in-game instances were local, with 4-5 ms ping and without any lags. Maybe I'm wrong. I would like to investigate this issue further, but I don't know how. All that makes me believe that the cause of the problems is on GGGs end. I only hope it is due to overwhelming popularity of the game. |

After last patch game is unplayable. Breach means 100% death because of lag. Tier 14+ maps mean death after map starts and first pack comes at you. After patch havent seen fps over 80, and thats in hideout. Hopefully ggg will say about this after holidays. At least admit of having a problem. Until last patch game was running great with ~100fps on rx6800 ryzen 5 5600.
