where are movement skills?

First, the game looks amazing. The boss encounters also look amazing. I love the pumpkin field map—it's absolutely stunning.

the first act is miserable. No loot drops, THe bosses take an eternity to kill. The overall concept around the classes dont make a whole lot of sense.. If i want to play fire caster... i have to pickup all these other skills i dont want.

Where are movement skills? I loved being able flame dash and move around group mobs. Now all we have is a dodge roll that is boring to look at and stinks.

I feel like i need phasing in this game even to feel comfortable... does phasing even exist. The monster's body blocking everything feels awful.

the acts feels like a massive walking simulator but not even a good one... its a crawling simulator because your being swarmed as soon as you spawn in. The maps are too big.

also it feels like loot just doesnt exist. 2 yellows for entire act 1 experience. I litterally restarted at end act 1 because my character felt bricked. Yes it was easier 2nd time around but it still felt awful.

Seeing streamers with zero movement skills. still moving at same pace i am in act 1 feels terrible. If this is the pace of the game... i dont see wanting to play.

Wasn't it whole GGG's idea for PoE2 ? Make it slower ? I kinda like it, not as much as Flicker Striking across the map but still. But i got an idea. Make roll a skill, with passive gems and stuff, also add some more gems like Ele Dash or Blink Arrow as legendaries, or some passives for it to act as one.

roll feels awful. i would rather have a real defensive or movement skill then that awful button. it just feels like arpg laziness.
I don't get what they were thinking with this either. Movement skills worked just fine in PoE 1. Why change something if it works? If something works, you keep doing it.

PoE 2 currently is very bare bones minimum with leap slam, shield charge & lightning warp. Where are Whirling Blades, Phase Run, Whithering Step, Dash, Flame Dash, Frostblink? Also not seeing the automation skill.

What if we don't want to dodge roll and just want to use a different movement skill? Forcing a user to use a specific movement ability instead of choosing a movement skill seems limiting.

Let us zoom out more. Bring back 32:9, Heist Alt Quality Gems, Gear Enchanting, Prophecy, Metamorph & Crucible. Stop removing content from the game. Stop nerfing everything. Stop making the game slow
dodge roll just has no flavor. honestly has more cons then positives.
also might i add... because no movement skills exist it makes hallways feel beyond lethal. surround and stunned to death. mobs that wont come through the door. like it feels like such a backwards design choice. it feels like a game ruining design choice too.

I really like this idea. Gems that modify the dodge roll. Increase range, speed, add damage, phasing, or modify function into a teleport, or dash. Fantastic idea.
Dodge roll should have been for characters that actually would dodge roll.

I can't see my 300lb gorilla of a warrior rolling around in the dirt like a rogue.

It's just boring and over used.

I think when it comes to the whole "game is slower" debate, we really need to differenciate between 1) slower and bad feeling and 2) slower and good feeling. Currently to me PoE2 falls into the 1) category.
I love that they made it slower than PoE1. People who love the zoomyness can continue to play PoE1, thats why it will be kept around. But GGG needs to finetune the difficulty for trashmobs in PoE2 to make the game feel more like category 2). To use an analogy: I don't mind walking instead of running. But i don't want to walk through glue.
there a balance between zooming and entire screen explodes. to it takes 45 to kill 2 mobs in hallway with 40 mobs swarming... if they touch you... well your about be stunned and killed.

i feel like those are both two extremes and there is a happy middle ground in which movement skills can exist and create the poe experience that everyone loved.
