[POE 2 EA] "Feathered Fletching" notable passive doesn't work
Feathered Fletching reads "Increases and Reductions to Projectile speed also apply to damage with bows"
So I combined it with the support gem "Acceleration" with gives 40% more projectile speed, and it didn't make a difference. According to the skill info, the damage per hit and DPS were unchanged by that support gem. I also tested to see if it does more damage on monsters regardless of the tooltip numbers, and also the damage itself appeared unchanged. Up
Still didn't work Tryed it with items and nodes on tree - they working. Support gem - not. |

Noticed the same issue when using it on my ranger.

More Projectile Speed is not an increase nor decrease, so it won't work.
This node affects only Increased/Reduced modifiers |

I doubt it a semantics issues with "more/increase". Seems more like an oversight or a bug

No, it doesn't seem to be a bug. The passive states "increases/reductions" which is the same wording as "increased, reduced" for every single passive. "more/less" are different modifiers that are multiplicative but increased/reduced are additive.

" I'm with this interpretation - is there an official stance yet? Wording gives room for either. |

There is no bug with this interaction. GGG have been transparent and very consitent with the fact that more/less is a different multiplier to increase/decrease.

I'm with OP and it should work:
I have 100% increased speed on quiver and 40% more is 140% so i should see the 40% difference (not 40% more but 40% increased damage) Wording with more and less does not matter here because we are not talking about it giving 40% more dps in vacuum but boosting the pre-existing speed increases on gear. So if you had 0% increase on gear this should give 0% bonus but with 1000% it should give 400% bonus If it really does nothing then it is wasted support slot and needs to be re-designed. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! | |
I can appreciate where you guys are coming from, but I would urge you to throw your eyes over this video which explains the breakdown of multiplier calculations.
https://youtu.be/73oglkCBuiM?si=aV9PCOSZqk0Ky0kg Whether you agree or not, GGG have decided to code the game this way and it has worked quite well over the history of the game. I am just grateful that they are very particular about their wording and let us know what exactly is a More multiplier and which is an Increased multiplier, as many other games I have played in the past have been ambiguous or downright lazy when it comes to consistency with damage calculations. The wording "Increases/reductions to projectile speed..." means EXACTLY that, so the new quiver implicit that gives ARROW speed is not beneficial to this node, but the explicit modifier "increased projectile speed" on a quiver would. I understand that you may not agree with the mechanic but it is the way that GGG do it, and requires a lot of attention to detail on their end so that there are no abuses of oversight on dmg calcs. |
