Not a bug, definitely by design. You're being intentionally obtuse due to copium, evidenced by that fact that you seem to think a support gem could/should provide a flat 40% damage increase with no drawbacks.

Multiple people already explained how specific words translate into mathematical formulas in POE. This (non-)interaction is by design. No official response needed.

Here to chime in a month since last post.

There is no "more or less" increased projectile speed. That mod doesn't exist. OP meant "#% Increased Projectile Speed", which should have been obvious.
