Please allow us to turn off auto aim

this desperately needs to be fixed
idk how this is not the #1 gameplay complaint/hotfix priority

not only is auto aim forced, no option whatsoever ['focus fire' option in binds DOES NOTHING], and absolutely skill cripplingly atrocious
for example, if I want to turn around to blink away from enemies
i literally fucking can't
or place an orb to warp to
too bad
mustache on

your char ALSO auto faces your movement direction
unrelated to enemies
if you let go of your right stick, your char will instantly flip facing movement input. this is truly astonishingly bad in every way

this is disgusting dogwater and MUST be fixed asap
it's very very simple to make this not be completely, unusably broken

it's close
just give auto aim option, pure on off
and fix that facing override bigstat
i want ABSOLUTELY ZERO external control over my controls

it's actually unplayable in a ton of ways
i'm 200 hours in, doing t15's fucking love this game
i play 50/50, controller at work
this is genuinely awful

and I have a lifetime of twinstick experience, it's super obvious and simple what is utterly wrong
+1 needs to be improved and optional. Quarterstaff attacks, bell, even when pressing shift to attack in-place, jumps around ruining everything. Trying to avoid aoe's or big pack of mobs: no you won't because auto-aim throws you middle of everything when trying to attack in-place. Waiting and patiently building freeze etc. to nuke the boss with tempest bell: no you wont because bell gets slammed behind my character for some reason. It ruins a lot of situations where you are trying to play tactically and position yourself to avoid aoe's and/or getting swarmed or just to deal damage efficiently.

+1 let us turn this crap off!

the fact it`s not a default option makes me think this is a remnant from PoE1 and can`t be fixed, same with ranged attacks having a problem with hitting where the mouse points from certain angles.

I have a bad feeling this is an engine problem at this point...

+1 please add this as a setting.
+1, absolutely heinous to track mobs and anticipate
a lot of skills only go in the direction your character is facing instead of the direction your cursor is which makes them feel bad. hope this gets changed
I noticed this with unearth. I want to target a mob and it targets a corspe.
+1 The auto aim feels so shitty on KBM
Even on controller the system feels incredibly bad, I feel forced into aoe heavy skills to get anything done. I've played a war bringer totem build into the 70s, my monk is almost 80, a ranger at 47, and I've started leveling a Witch at like 11. The poor implementation has been unbelievably noticeable and frustrating on my Monk and witch runs in particular; some of the interactions the skills want you to do are unlikely to happen in the campaign and especially when you get into maps. The palm strikes and things like Contagion/Essence drain are just so annoying to get right because any combination of me moving or the monsters just cycles through the 20 monsters I'm staring down. So, either you simply miss the combo with Contagion+ED or you find yourself not hitting the low life enemy with Killing Palm and instead smack dab in the middle of an entire pack with your pants down. At least with my ranger some of the jank has been funny as being equal distance from a number of mobs while trying to move results in 360 no-scoping the entire screen.
Yeah the aim assistance is incredibly problematic. Many instances where you cant tell if the terrain is a part of the field, the game will just decide to execute the skill in an entirely different location independent of your mouse cursor.
