How does Orb of Chance work in POE2?

Greetings Exiles.

So..how does Orb of Chance work in POE2? I couldn't apply it on several white crossbow items.

Its always failing with "this item cant be enhanced any further" but the item description is clearly stating that it needs to be a normal item (white).

I didnt find anything useful to answer this nor did I spot anywhere an information about req. ilvl or else.

Im confused what to do with this seemingly useless item.

If the item is a white quality base without sockets you can use the Chance orb on it.

The item will either go poof and disappear, or it will be turned into a unique. There is a chance the base item type you're tyring to use it on hasn't been implemented yet and it's giving a generic error call.

So its probably not implemented yet for Crossbows to be rolled as uniques.

Thats unfortunate - Is there a way to lookup which items are already "rollable" in a table or something?
ive tried belts and gloves and it just says "Item Cannot increase in rarity" despite being a white item so im not sure if it just not in the loot table for those items but i thought ive seen quite a few posted.
Just tried it on 2 body armour bases (armour base) and a 2 handed mace.

It didn't work on any of it also.
"Item cannot increase in rarity"
Same problem, cannot use it at all.
same issue for me, is it a known issue?
From reddit ive read that the normal item base has to have unique associated to it. If it doesnt you wont be able to use the orb on it.
Does it even work on items that have unique? I tried using it on silk robe, cuz on poe2db there is unique of silk robe but I cant use it anyway
You can't chance boss uniques, and the base needs to have an unique associated to it.

There's only 2 crossbow uniques (based on poedb), so you're probably trying to chance a base that doesnt have an unique.
