PoE 2 Honor System explanation?
" This post is about Trial of Sekhema and the problems people have with it. So yes, it is completely optional because you can do the Trial of Chaos. Plus most people said that their builds are slow and tanky and therefore not viable for the honor system. If that is truly the case, Trial of Chaos should be no problem for these people. www.twitch.tv/marloss_live

" You mean grind bahlak as melee until you collect all trialmaster fragments which drop randomly?:) Dream content indeed. In a 10 room chaos trial you are bound to meet tornado once. |

"honour" makes zero sense. In almost every situation, almost every scenario, in legends, myths, stories, games, whatever...
Who is more honorable? The guy who flits around the field firing arrows? The guy constantly blipping, tossing spells? The guy standing toe-to-toe not running, not using potentially cheat tactics... just manning up? Yeah... that third one is the one we see as most honorable. If you don't, there's something seriously wrong with you. Please seek therapy and get that analyzed. For the rest of us, though... Now, combine that with how the Trial actually works. It benefits, HEAVILY people who use the other styles, the LESS honorable. And, it punishes HEAVILY those who do the commonly seen as honorable style. It really makes zero sense. Renaming the honour isn't enough, though. Beyond the issues with the name, the basic concept doesn't work. Sanctum worked because it was something BEYOND the abilities of others, they needed heroes beyond renown to conquer it. Trial of Sekhema? Only the 4th floor was locked to anyone. The first 3 floors are something that was required of anyone aspiring to become a Sekhema. The Sekhemas were NOT major heroes of any kind. They were wise, intelligent, good leaders. None of that is found in this trial, and certainly not in further floors! Even further... The Sekhemas have almost always been great melee types from what I have seen. Yet, this is the kind most punished. Pretty much every angle for this trial just does not work. It reeks of 'we want to have a system, but coming up with new takes too much, so just copy what we already have' without thought to logic, balance, canon, and more. |

" According to the Maraketh Sekhemas, the most honorable and effortless to pass the Trials is Fairdun Witch blundering through with an army of smelly undead:) Witch might even be half-dead lich for all they care, Honor remains through the roof. Never mind the fact that Maraketh are at war with Fairdun according to the lore. Last edited by Echothesis#7320 on Apr 22, 2025, 5:34:50 AM
