may i ask where the defensive layer comes from this build? i'm currently running a similar build with 1 hand mace and shield but it looks not nearly that strong tbh my totems attack way slower and deal way less dmg. i'm thinking about getting the 2 hand weapons node and then run the unique hammer+shield. Might switch to ur build even tho it'll be expensive


Since you're stacking strength you get a good bit of life, but I haven't needed to focus on defenses at all. I've done my best to balance res a little and get maximum life on my gear.

I believe the strong offense and stuns of this build are what prevent me from dying very often. It just does so much damage the monsters insta die and bosses spend most their time getting knocked around.

The main thing is from the +% attack speed per totem along with having 4 totems makes it so the monsters are more or less stun locked. Then with the warbringer passives for armour breaking, stuff just doesn't have much of a chance to hurt me.


As for your damage, focus on getting some +2 to melee skills, I just put a note on how important that is in the build for you. You can find them on:
- amulets
- gloves
- 2h weapons (1-7? maybe 8?)
- 1h weapons (1-4? maybe more?)

In my first 10-20 levels I dual wielded +2 weapons. Then +3's, then +4s. I found blue ones from vendors on occasion, they are pretty common. I spent 2 exalts total on some bigger upgrades with the right stat combos.

I swapped mine a ton as my gear changed and just for fun, they all work really well. The only required one is Overabundance since that lets you have another totem. After that all types of gems are viable, I think the one below feels pretty smooth:

Overabundance (+1 totems) -> Martial Tempo (+25% attack speed) -> Brutality

Brutality is your flexible gem, you can use it to try other stuff or swap for different situations, close combat, fire infusion, increased AOE, concentrated effect, inspiration if you're struggling on mana. Lots of choices.

The big thing is just the gem levels, having a skill +6 or more levels higher than your content destroys everything.

I have a noob question regarding to the totem cast speed. Is the increase attack speed affect totem cast speed?

It depends on totem, in our case attack speed is important. If would cast a spell the cast speed.
Shockwave totem are attacking, not casting
Does your starter nodes melee damage affect totem dmg?
Tought it disnt scale with melee dma, just totem dmg. Since totems doant scale off your weapon dmg
I made the switch just startet cruel difficulty and immediately it feels way better. great work! Do you mind sharing some of ur skill setups and gear? i'm honestly not much of experimental player myself and rather have fun playing a build i know it works ^^

Making a new toon since my Sorc is bricked now.

Love the way the build looks. Other than good job on the build, I only have 1 question.

Can we speed up time it takes for the Totems to begin attacking? Or is that "totem attack speed" ? There's a slight delay after placing them before they attack.
