Ascendancy Trials in POE2 make the game completely unbearable and unfun.
+1
No longer motivated to play because of these horrible trials. |

This version of trials is the worst content I have ever seen in any video game, ever.

I'm just getting killed at the boss in the second trial.
So bascially you have to do that Ultimatum three times again to get your oneshot death? And not only they took AGAIN an unfun RNG on RNG mechanic nearly noone plays in POE 1 and tuned it to 11. Why not add some walking and wasting even more time before you getting killed and can try again? This game is a joke. Big maps, walking around, smashing white mobs for zero usable loot. Only hope you have is to get an ex to buy something from the trade site. I cannot fathom how people come up with the time to play this piece of junk. And on top of this they use two of the most bs league functions to lock ascendancy points behind. |

Ultimatum used to be my favorite mechanic- but the new VA isn't quite hitting the same. Maybe I'm just a sucker for lore but- why is he here anyhow?
I think my biggest gripe was with the boss clarity- not sure what you're supposed to do to escape the guy's wind storm... Pretty sure the strategy isn't to kill him before he uses it, but it worked! |

I just did my 3rd Ascendancy in Sanctum as STR-stacking Quarterstaff Pathfinder. It's honestly super chill once you've gotten some relics with Honor Resistance and I had max honor all the way to last boss on the third floor where I had about half (14xx) and finished it with 9xx honour left.

It's absolutely astounding that sanctum made it through QA in its current form. I have been running my friends through it so they can get their ascendancies and the only time I died was when I was running with 2 melee characters.
In a party, honor damage hits all player bars so honor damage is global. Yet the honor bar for each person is based of YOUR character, meaning a warrior will have more than double the honor to spend in a trial than a ranger running a sleek evasion build. So in a trial the melee's are up front getting the shit kicked out of them and the ranger in the back that hasn't taken a single hit dies at half their honor level. Utterly mind boggling. If you are going to go with global damage, give everyone the same honor amount. I tell the melee and low dps peeps to just stay back whilst I clear each area because the trials were obviously built around high evasion, high dps ranged characters. Go get wrecked if you play melee I guess. What the hell were the devs thinking? This time I am super serial...

" +1 I think the entire honor thing needs a rethink. |
|
I think it'd be bearable if they:
1. Unlimited entries 2. Completion of the trial see's you ascend 3. Honour triggers additional awards, keys, etc. |
|
the trick to sanctum and ultimatum is to roll blood mage since your ascendancy nodes are about as good or worse than the ones already on the passive tree. that way you wont feel the need to waste your time.

I hated sanctum in poe 1, but had a choice to not do it and choose more enjoyable content. While ultimatum was fun the first time in poe1, the revision made it unenjoyable. Again, I had a choice to play content I liked. Thats why I've played poe1 since closed beta. I keep coming back because its enjoyable to have content options and build options. POE2 isn't finished obviously there will be adjustments but until I have other options than the 2 current trials. I am just not interested. It should be enjoyable and this is not.
BTW I liked lab and metamorph and blight and crucible and settlers sooo many other great options why keep the shitty ones and make them required content. |
