Ascendancy Trials in POE2 make the game completely unbearable and unfun.
Maybe GGG can double down on this and introduce an RNG factor to every level where you get 100% - your level chance of actually gaining a level when your XP bar is filled up. If you have bad RNG then the XP bar just resets and you get to grind that level all over again.
That is what the current ascendancy system feels like. |

I have defended all the other content people were complaining about: Geonor, Jamanra, Forgemaster, etc. but these trials feel way overtuned and punishing. Please consider balancing them. Take into consideration, they heavily favor ranged classes and disfavor melee (I myself am a ranged class). Gating needed content behind this is not challenging it’s frustrating when it feels unfairly punishing. I can see a large chunk of the casual player base quitting because of it.

I don't understand how anybody played Trial of the Sekhemas as a Warrior and thought this is a good idea. It's not just that it's hard, it's infuriating.
Not only do I have to spend 20 minutes baiting and dodging everything because I can't allow myself to get hit, but the final boss has 600 armor and what feels like a million hp. With shit randomly spawning around you. I have played POE1 since beta but never, ever have I run into such a badly designed system. This system is so awful I'm just going to ignore Ascendancies completely until they fix it.
Performing perfectly, losing almost no honour, only to be one shot while fighting the two bosses is just bad game design. As a whole the roll or die mechanic is truly awful, I don't see many people engaging with Ascendancies, or even continuing to play PoE II in it's current form. |

It really makes me not want to play a melee class anymore until they've made some changes. This is garbage.

How the heck did this even get torugh testing?
A system that is heavely against melee. A system that totally ignores your gear. A system that punishing you for not having meta build. And you can't restart if you fail, you have to spend hours on hours to get 1 coin, to fail in a few minuts. This is not a bad system, this is pure neglect and ignorance. This should never have gotten trough to early access. GGG can't leave this in the game, it breaks classes. This is not about getting good, it should be equally hard/easy for any class, not easy mod for ranged and hard mode for melee. Lost where no man has been lost before.
