Leagues can go and stay go? That’s probably the worst take I’ve read all week. Without leagues, Path of Exile wouldn’t even exist as we know it. You’re bored? Cool. But guess what? The majority of the player base actually loves the constant resets, new mechanics, and challenges.

Let’s be real: no leagues means no fresh content, no economic resets, no reason to grind for hours when there’s nothing new to discover. Hell, even Diablo 4 is trying to rip off the league system because it WORKS.

And yeah, maybe some leagues don’t hit as hard (looking at you, Kalandra), but even the “bad” ones bring updates that keep the game alive. Without them, you’d just be stuck running the same boring meta builds forever in a static game world. Sound fun? Didn’t think so.

So sure, you might not like leagues, but calling them “irrelevant” is just a bad take. They’re the backbone of PoE, and without them, we’d all be stuck playing some half-baked, dead ARPG.

Also: Ah, yeah, another one of those who’s probably never played PoE seriously—or any ARPG for that matter—but now wants to tell everyone what works and what doesn’t. Do us all a favor and at least learn what you’re talking about before dropping takes like this.

No one has said the boss fights should be faster. Literally no one. You are making shit up. People just want faster movement speed and Movement Skills in the game. Its atrociously unfun to walk ages across these gargantuan maps, who are you kidding pretending like this games pacing isn't utterly fucked.

Alexa play "why the fuck you lying?"

I have seen those comments, ive seen people complain about having to do mechanics rather than facetanking everything and wanting to roll over every boss with ease.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.
Loot disappearing on death is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in an arpg and potentially gaming as a whole. Who knows what was being smoked in GGG when they made that decision.

How would you know? There is no version of PoE 1 without leagues to compare player numbers with. I personally know many people who hate the league system, so I could make the claim that actually most players would prefer it gone. That has just as much of a basis.

Except that there is a poe 1 without leagues and there always was? Its the "dumpster" league where all the characters get transferred after a new one ends? But its considered as a dumpster for a reason.

I've read this concern for Leagues and I'm not sure why players are directly comparing the massively bloated League Challenges and flawed level range issues of PoE1 to PoE2.

I like engaging with leagues before maps. Esp when it gives you an idea of how they were supposed to work but didn't after falling victim to the same flaws the core game has. Sanctum for instance.

I did Sanctum while leveling and it felt on point as a ranged character but unfair to a melee character. Just like most things in PoE1 though, do enough damage and you can stat smash anything. Even something specifically designed to not be stat smashed.

At any rate Leagues could be far different. Instead of do 100k Map Modifiers it's like finish the Atlas. Instead of kill X bosses y number of times they can make more use of the conditional killing.

Point being the bar can be moved and it might even be more fun.
