Poison Gas Arrow Pathfinder
I had some thoughts about an ES version of this build using Eternal Youth and tried it out on my character and it turned out to be surprisingly good.
+4 Xesht kill I have around twice the hit pool with this setup and also deal more damage because my ES pool felt comfortable enough to slot in snakebite. On the tree I pathed to the top part to get a bunch of %inc ES nodes and a total of 11 jewels for damage mods. The drawback of this approach is mainly that is heavily depends on the jewels for damage, and that suffix gearing is more tight due to the unique chest, so it's harder to run item rarity. Imo the final ascendancy point is also required because the ES recovery depends on flasks. The total cost of the gear is lower than the life version still, because I'm not using Grand Spectrum. I made a small summary of my tree + gear on maxroll: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/ux10jb0v Builds and Guides: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2198879 Last edited by SHEPUUURD#7714 on Dec 30, 2024, 10:16:57 PM

I just start this bulid and simple question , what chose in in 3 act? :)
25% increased Stun Threshold. 30% increased Elemental Ailment Threshold. 25% increased Mana Regeneration Rate. and in cruel i resume chaos res? |

" Hey, that looks great, I will definitely try it because Im struggling with bosses, I see you have around 5k combined hp and es, thats great. Also I won't use attriction, it's cost is too high and I don't want to get close to bosses |

Hey quick question, why do you look for + Projectile Skill Levels on the quiver but not the bow?
I'm currently doing t12 maps and although it's been fine, I feel like my dps is not as high as it should be. My gas arrow deals 3.8k dps according to the tooltip and my bow is 241 physical dps, I might just need a better bow, idk. |

I found it useful to look at main hand poison dmg rather than the tool tip dps. Might be a total non factor but it helped me understand the effect of magnitude better vs projectile etc dmg. I'm starting t10 and my dps is over 7.5k looking at mhpd. I wish I was home to verify but I'm pretty sure the tool tip dps is lower and had misled me on certain decisions. I'll verify and edit this later. And sorry if this is obvious but I wasn't aware of it, not a poe1 poison player ever and not a frequent player either.

Just a quick question.
If I don't want to lean into flasks, which ascendancies would you take after the poison ones? thanks. |

" I had ended going this direction but more so by really pivoting into int/dex. I went really hard into int stats, using monk nodes and using mixed or purely int helmet and boots, subterfurge mask, etc. I use despair instead of attrition as an extra power bump and feast for mapping. I end with like 2k shield while still having decent evasion. However I was going to lean harder into ES and then dance just cant keep up and you have to go youth so I am considering to go your route and depend more on better gems now After watching this I think that doing that with ghostwrithe is an interesting way to go. Curious that you didnt try to go for CI at this stage. |

"There's not really a large difference between them, I think I took stun threshold and attributes. "Physical damage is by far the most important stat on a bow so from a pricing perspective you should focus on that. A gem level is only 5% more damage and also has the drawback of increasing the mana cost. My bow I believe was 1-2 div and has 350 physical DPS, so if you got that it would be 45% more damage for you. "I think Traveller's Wisdom and Running Assault are probably the best options in that case. I don't really encounter slows enough to feel like Relentless Pursuit would be worth it. "I haven't really checked out the int route much yet because I was worried about attribute requirements but it seems to be a non-issue (I have 244 strength atm and you only need like 150 int for the best ES armors). but the gem options, especially Despair, make it pretty attractive too. From what I've seen you can prbably get a realistic 350 ES on helmet and 200 ES on boots which would be an extra ~2250 ES on my character and probably make it worth dropping evasion. I think pure ES wise Ghost Writhe is probably the best chest you can get, I get around 1300 ES from it and can cap my chaos res with Snakebite and 3 Soul Cores. Unless you're foregoing life/str you will probably have a slightly smaller pool with CI as the highest "affordable" armors are around 900ES and you're missing the remaining ~1k life. Poison and chaos damage haven't really been an issue for me with 75% chaos resist. I think I will check out using int and ES gear a bit. Another update on the int route.
I swapped out just my helmet + boots to wear ES gear and respecced the tree and turned the tree into a dual-tree with weapon swap. Set 1 is the normal gas arrow setup, set 2 is using Arvil's Wheel with a curse tree, that way I am hitting -61% chaos resist on Despair. I removed 1 jewel to spec a couple more smaller int nodes, and now I have almost 8k Energy Shield.

Here is an updated profile on maxroll: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/dl1p3z01 And another video of +4 Xesht where I tank a lot of his hits: https://youtu.be/vczcTkX_MYw Judging from the video I think I do around 400k DPS with curse and attrition up. edit - the tooltip mentions the increased dmg after 2m traveled so it seems it should work
