Thank you for the guide! This will be super useful for me.

Question, why use Close Combat at all? Isn't Deadly Poison better in all situations?

Deadly poison makes the 3 hits from pconc do noticeably less damage, and is not worth the 75% magnitude we get from it.

Ideally with a bit of investment you should hit gem level 31 which means you don't really rely on the poison ticks as much as you rely on the actual upfront burst damage.

It's not a bad choice by any means, if you don't mind doing less initial damage and would rather use pconc for DoT damage, then by all means go ahead!

The only "wrong" way to play this build is to nerf yourself with random uniques everyone is suggesting. Passives / sub skills are preference related (except for a few)

Yeah...we hitting pretty hard.

Has anyone else noticed that Concentrated Effect support doesn't affect the sheet damage of pcoc? Otherwise I would use it for bosses.

Yep, it -should- work as the tags match pconc, but they do in fact result in a 0 dmg gain. This is also why I ignore any guide with it listed.

Hopefully in January they address some bug fixes.

Deadly poison is a trap and is worse than most damage buffs you can get. Your poison DoT does 30% more damage, but don't forget that your hit from hitting enemies with your pconc also does damage.

Remember, poison base dps is calculated by taking 20% of base damage from your skill, with pconc's 100% more it will be 40%. Poison also has a base duration of 2 seconds.

For base pconc, assuming 100 damage on hit -> total damage = 100 + 2s*40%(100) = 180 damage
Pconc with deadly poison -> Total damage = 75 + 2s*40%(75)*1.75 = 180 damage
So 0% more damage for base pconc, no inc to anything

Deadly poison's more damage increase will be stronger from getting increased magnitude of poison and inc poison damage, but from my calculations from taking all poison nodes on tree and ascendancy alone, it barely goes over 25% more.

I thought increases to chaos dmg didn't affect poison because poison dmg is based on the hit that caused it?

Hello Exile!

I don't know where did you read that, but poison has a completely separate scaling from the hit, that's why I'm saying that you don't ever understimate poison magnitude scaling. What actually works with the damage of the initial hit are Ignites.

Hope you find this useful.

Hey,

Poison is only calculated based on the hit like ignite as mentioned by the tooltip ingame. The reason why % extra chaos damage works with this build is because PConc has base Chaos damage, this causes the %chaos damage nodes to increase the hit from PConc that is used for the poison calc. % Chaos damage will not increase poison damage after the hit calculations, I've tested this as have many other people.

Hello Exile!

Yes, indeed this is correct.

Deadly Poison ACTUALLY is worse than other damage buff. The DoT is better, but upfront damage feels really good.

I already updated that on the guide, thanks for making me notice too! I really appreciate this kind of feedback.

Hello Exile!

What a girthy number you got there. Can you tell me your support gems setup?

Thanks in advance! I'm gonna try some freeze shenanigans with this.

if you hover over the poison tag in the game, it says: 'The base magnitude of poison is chaos damage per second equal to 20% of the physical and chaos damage per hit that inflicted it.' aka 1/5th of the combined physical and flat chaos damage is the base amount that your poison magnitude starts to scale.
what makes you say that poison has a completely separate scaling and that hit damage does nothing, it's literally wrong based on the in game explanation?
