Dying and loosing Exp
Can we NOT have this thing in PoE 2, the Monster On Death effects, Nasty bosses and the Crazy Ultimatum make the game unplayable as dying = loosing exp you farmed for hours (after Level 72, it seems like you barely get any exp per map).
We die and we loose the map Mods\Bosses etc, is that Not Enough?!?! Last bumped on Jan 14, 2025, 3:38:27 AM

Yeah, masochistic mechanics from the last century should stay in the last century. What does it add to the game anyway? It's already painfully punishing and frustrating to die anyway.

Im not sure how xp loss in a game is still a thing, its always been hated and n one really does it anymore. These guys have lost there fucking minds.
Theres so many issues and things to fix right now, im not sure its possible. Normally you only have so many mobs, and things to fix but because theyve made SOO many they have a HUGE task ahead of them now. Im not sure what the fuck they were thinking with any of this at this point now. I love the game but the sheer amount of bad descisions is becoming overwhelming and im sure the hype is about to wear off for 90 percent of the current pop. If they dont make ALOT of changes real quick, while the rest of the pop catches up to us, theyre going to have a shit ton of pissed off people real soon. |

To me it sounded like he felt that it was ok to let the xp loss to happen after 90, which would have been a great idea since the content loss upon death already is punishing. I don't know what made them land on the current level. Especially since the class/skill balance has big issues atm(naturally). It seems a bit too harsh and people are not able to progress much if they didn't pick the "correct" specs. |

I think XP loss on death is not a good mechanic since PoE1. I think a temporary reduction in XP gain (until you gain a certain amount of XP) would be better than losing progress.

XP loss on death was an awful mechanic in PoE1 and is still an awful mechanic in PoE2.
There will be too much stuff in the game that will one-shot you from the left field, while the exp requirements being so high for the last few levels that throwing exp-loss into the mix is just abusive. In poe1, you could spend an entire day to farm half a level. Only to loose it all in minutes. |
