Dying and loosing Exp

It seems that xp loss is only a thing in waypoints. At the moment it seems to be a fixed value of about 10% xp of the current level.

What if they change the exp loss that you only lose the exp you got in the current waypoint you are dying in? Will still be a penalty but you wont work backwards anymore by having a bad run in an waypoint

That they didn't even address this in their video today is wild. I currently have no desire to play the game past level 90 since even a single death can set you back hours, effectively erasing any xp gains you've made. And for what? Those extra 10 passive tree points will hardly make a difference, just round out a build. Gatekeeping them in this brutal fashion is cruel and utterly disrespectful to the players.

or just setup proper defenses and play well? Avoid bad affixes? Did you forget about that?

The game will inevitably be a farm fiesta like poe1, and there is no actual counter to the sheer amount of on-death effects we will have do deal with.

I sure hope you're deep into end game with these matter-of-fact statements.

Nearing 90. Havent died since 87. Block cap, res capped (79/79/79/75)

the secret to on death is it happens.. on death. So knowing that you can be prepared. You see those little icons on the monsters? Try and figure out what those mean...

Ladies and gentleman. At last... the elitist stan has revealed himself.

I hope everyone finally sees this person for what he is.

You are not even 90+.

You are not even dealing with the issues that we are discussing; those of us who've been slogging at 90-95 for at least 2 weeks now.

All this big talk.

All this invalidation of the experiences of others.

All this condescension.

I've been waiting for you to slip. And there it is: you've revealed yourself.

You are not that guy.

But hey, never change. Never change bro.

They didn't address it because it isn't an issue they care about. They made on-death effects more visible and audible and that is all they care about. If you still don't like it then quit.

Johnathan is pretty adamant on their decision and they would need to lose a massive amount of the concurrent player base to that specific issue alone for them to change it.

Agreed, and its cringe watching the few people trying to defend it with their bad takes.
This topic is 10 years old. They have expressed their want for this to be a part of the game. I would decide now if this is a deal breaker for you, because if it is then you are wasting your time playing a game like this. I’m not trying to be mean, or invalidate anyone. Just acknowledging the fact that this is a part of the game, and here to stay. It’s a reality that you’ll have to let sink in at some point.

Save yourself the pain this is causing you.

no, its a 1 month old topic, poe2 is a new game and any arguments that were made for poe1 are honestly irrelevant. this is a new game and it plays a lot different from its predecessor and should be treated as such.

only if players allow it, if more people ditched the "this is just how it is" type mentality and actually spoke up to ggg about these things, they would change. poe2 has brought in a lot of new players so lets actually ask more of ggg in the way of positive changes for the game.
