Dying and loosing Exp

Don't know why it has to be this punishing, you run 3 maps and grind a few bars of xp, die once and lose hours of progress.

It's not fun, it's the "let's make people stop playing" mechanic


It's the same nonsense with trial of the Sackoifshit where you have spent the whole game building character defenses and making sure you can survive hits, only to be forced to do some trial where the goal is never to be hit...

never to be hit in a ARPG. Where even stacking to 100% evasion will cause you to get hit.

I feel like you guys aren’t going to stop complaining until they implement the 1 button clear 10 screens of mobs, stand in all boss mechanics mindless zombie playstyle. Why not just implement the press 1 button to beat the game mechanic while we’re at it.

If you’re dying in tier 1-5 maps too often , check your resistances, defenses, watch your feet, dodge, start playing proactively.

Dying already has the punishment of kicking you out of the map. Exp loss on death is just a abusive, superfluous mechanic that serves nothing but cause players to chase down the fastest and safest way to level.

Which in PoE1 is to pay divines to some random farmer and sit in a fucking corner waiting for the exp to drop in.

Yeah.. so go play PoE 1 if you want that? There is no reason they would keep the EXP loss mechanic in PoE 2 and then add a way to AFK and level to 100 for doing nothing. It defeats the entire purpose of the game.

nope. level 100 needs to be something you cant just play endlessly to achieve.

or just setup proper defenses and play well? Avoid bad affixes? Did you forget about that?

How... Did you take that statement as something i want in this game?

That's the issue in PoE1, that the best way to level, is to farm currency and then pay someone to stay in a corner while they farm exp for you in a certain game mode. Because the risk of farming exp, while enjoying the game yourself is far too steep.

Remove the exp-loss and people won't have to look for the most boring and depressive way to level, they can just play and enjoy the game.

The game will inevitably be a farm fiesta like poe1, and there is no actual counter to the sheer amount of on-death effects we will have do deal with.

I sure hope you're deep into end game with these matter-of-fact statements.

Nearing 90. Havent died since 87. Block cap, res capped (79/79/79/75)

the secret to on death is it happens.. on death. So knowing that you can be prepared. You see those little icons on the monsters? Try and figure out what those mean...

idk why so many people hate this "feature" so much. i can only say, GGG want the game to be hard and i like that. if you want to have a smooth gameplay with almost no brainpower needed just go and play ANY other arpg than poe and you will be happy.
there is NO hard arpg out there besides poe, so pls stop crying about it is to hard and just accept that poe is hard and never will be an other diablo like clone.

It's not a hard feature. It's a tedious one, that adds nothing to the game than to make those last few levels an absolute chore to reach.
