Acolyte of Chayula - League Starter/SSF - Off-Meta - Hexblast Monk to get to Endgame (and beyond)

Hey! Just a question;

Does having 2 curses up actually affect Hexblast? You say its a massive damage spike, but Hexblast says it only consumes *a* curse.

Or did you mean its a damage spike because of the additional penalties afflicted by having a second curse?

Just a little confused, and would love your input :)
I have Hexblast Cirt Blood Mage build and have some reflections on yours. All the cons apply to my build as well, physical dmg and stuns are the worst. However, going MoM and using Life instead mana (+ having instant Life Leech) is fixing most of the problems.

Having 100% crit chance and over 500% to crit dmg, my total hexblast dmg (with Archmage) is decent, not OP but can do t15 maps. I am doubting your build hits so hard, so you are in strong disadvantage. Also, Hexblast becomes later very mana hungry so switching to Life fixes that problem and Mana is only for defense. In your case, mana leech probably will fix that issue. Still, you won't get that much dmg.

It also seems, you are not grasping fully mechanics of hexblast, so your tree is broken. You can play like that bit it's very hard and risky. Hexblast detonates up to 9 enemies. What it doesn't say, that the explosion is another source of dmg that is not accounted for and in dense packs, explosions overlaps, detonating everything in range. And here is the kicker, Hexblast feeds of AoE, because it increases the range of the casted spell and the range of explosions. AoE of curses, expand curse aura, allowing to cast hexblast further away.

In short, hexblast needs AoE and AoE curses jewels and nodes and on supports. Without them, the dmg area is very, very low, you need to recast often and most enemies stay alive, making your life harder. Even if you set your Heblast in the way you get more dmg in theory but less AoE (good for bosses), it feels like you are 4 times weaker on maps. AoE is crutial for this kind of build.

Sadly, aside Mana Leech and some average chaos dmg boosts, I don't see this build to be on pair with Blood Mage crit version, so it doesn't offer that many perks in general. The only one that is standing out is mana leech. I would love to have mana leech next to life leech on my blood mage. This would make her unkillable for the most of the time.

Very hard ascendancy to build around. Not many great synchronizations. With Hexblast, you get some dmg boost but are still way behind Blood Mage, with Querstaff you are behind other monks or gemlings. Darkness is weak and finicky, not worth taking.Probanbly you get some dmg burst from collecting those thingies and makes it playable, but this isn't reliable and time limiting boost.

Acolyte of Chayula seems to be broken currently. Very enticing build role playing wise, but mechanically doesn't offer that many unique synergies.
