How Evasion works on POE 2?
Freezing enemies is the only defense that works. At least for low-skill players like me.

" " all monsters in the game at the same level have the same accuracy regardless of monster type or rarity. they can be effected by stuff like map mods that give increased accuracy. the char sheet will show you your chance to evade monsters who are the same level as you, capping out at the highest level monsters in the game. so if you are level 80 and your sheet is showing 90% chance to evade you will have 90% chance to evade all level 80 monsters, and a higher chance to evade lower level ones. " entropy is purely a buff, there is nothing bad about entropy it makes evasion reliable. entropy is strictly better than no entropy. but yes, evasion is a very fragile defence on its own. in poe1 you needed a way to deal with physical damage hits on top of your evasion if you didnt want to be very glass. either you needed armour, energy shield, a lot of life, phys taken as elemental, you needed something. imo armour and energy shield always needed something extra on top too. es was probably as close as you could get to being enough to make you tanky on its own but you had to have a lot put into a form of sustain for it. generally speaking you had to have 2 or 3 things going on if you didnt want to be paper thin. |

Im a lvl 33 ranger with a max of 84% evasion due to the ascendancy.
But im having trouble clearing the dreadnaught at the end of act 2. Seems that all of his 'throwing spears' attacks. Keep hitting mee, with some pretty dmg. Why am i not 'evading' most of these? |

" I might be wrong, but I think those spears create an AoE effect where they land. AoE damage can't be evaded unless u specced into Acrobatics. |
