I will likely quit playing before i try to ascend again.

so during holidays i was bored and went back to poe2 trying different builds, i still don't like 1 attempt per map in the endgame, but i did 3 level trials on multiple characters and it is totally fine now, it is quite easy and straight forward with the dodge roll it is a lot easier than sanctum in poe1, there is no reason to complain, i did it with monk with like 3k honour to spare at the end of the fight with the serpent, all you guys need to do is just buy some decent relics that provide "honour resistance" and "increased max honour" or "increased defences", thats it, no need to cry and complain, I personally hated lab running in poe1 but I like this system better, for instance you can skip first 2 ascendancies and then just do 1 run of 3/4 levels of trials to get all the points at once, WAAAAAY BETTER!!!
PoE1 3.23 - the best league of all time (an absolute banger)

PoE2 0.2 - the most borring ARPG in the world... RIP
If you need to mess with the sanctum mechanics to upgrade CORE CHARACTER PROGRESSION, then it's plain moronic.

Level 94 Invoker in SSF, all 4 ascendencys unlocked.
I struggled at first on my 3rd and 4th ascendency, but a little time grinding, rearranging some gear and skills was enough to get it done.

If you cant get the 3rd trial done by yourself at all, you should see that as a sign that you need to improve both your build and your knowledge of the game. It is not that hard!!!

To be fair, i think both trials and chaos chambers are already overnerfed and to easy currently.

It's not even about it being hard. It's NOT FUN. 0 FUN. No one wants to do this trash. Fact. Therefore many of us will simply stick to poe1 cause this game is lame.

….

You think the lab and Izaro is fun then?

Nope. I hated labyrinth with a passion. And the keyword is the past tense "hated"; after being forced to interact with two of the absolute worst mechanics ever added into PoE1 to get asc points, I have changed my mind and now consider lab and Izaro supreme design.

I never thought that I would pick labyrinth over a different means of getting asc points, but holy fuck did PoE2 prove me wrong. Bring back lab, I'll never again complain about it if this dumpster is the other option.
trying to git gud myself am practicing trails as a means to farm gear. I do not enjoy it, but maybe that will change.

That said I effin hate Ultimatum is might actually be the worst league mechanic (IMO) they ever made considering that Talisman was garbage mostly because of the "

Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
Same here. Dislike the Honor system from POE1 and to gate ascendency behind it means I am done with POE2 EA. Maybe later as things get worked out.
Armor and evasion not contributing to honor scaling is ridiculous. ES required. Game is dumb AF right now.
Finally got my 3rd at level 75ish using a fire based Chromamancer. I did it by literally just running around in circles placing fire walls.

I understand GGG's perspective is that it should be difficult so you feel like it is something you earned, but the implementation is way off.

I did it because I run around in circles, didn't interact with the boss and have long-range spells that slowly chip away it's health bar. I don't see how running around in a circle for 10 minutes is strategic gameplay.

And it's not just because it's ea, because the problem is the honor system on a fundamental level.

I don't see how you have build diversity when the only way to get through the honor system is to insta kill every mob and boss so you don't get hit, which GGG said they don't want, or you sit back and just launch stuff from long range.

I don't see how any average player gets through that trial with any type of melee or medium range based build. And the drop rates for the things to do the trial feels so low.

The whole point of making harder bosses that require more strategy kind of hinges on us getting a lot of practice, and that does not feel doable right now.
