We need WASD movement for PoE 1 now too.

Basically, it was the reason why I never could play PoE 1 in the first place. Even without PoE 2, there are a lot of isometric WASD action games, so I never could understand why all ARPG still didn't adapt it. Btw, another thing which even PoE2 didn't adapt is camera shifting to the cursor direction, like in basically all modern isometric action games.

Because WASD is the worst thing possible in an isometric game. Every isometric game with it is a failure.
It is an horrible hybridation of the worst of both point and click and controller.
If you want optimal control you play point and click
If you want quality of life you play with a controller.

PoE2 came with an autoaim that destroyed the 3 ways of control. Point and click, WASD and controller are horrible in poe2.

WASD in isometric do not work because you do not control FOV with your mouse like in other first or third person games.
It only has 8 directionals and you need to press 2 active inputs for a diagonal strafe.
The truth is WASD players are just people unable to understand point and click or aRPGs.
These are facts. All you guys have to say for WASD is repeating like npc: " Hmm WASD so good."
If you want QoL you play with a controller, no reason to play WASD in any world.

Implementing WASD in poe1? No thanks. That's not the controls that keeps you guys out of poe1, that is the skill check you will never be able to overcome. Stick to poe2 dodgeroll fiesta.

Someone sounds a bit butt hurt lol. I've been playing ARPGs since the first Diablo and really got into it with Diablo 2, TitanQuest, etc. So over 25 years at this point and frankly I love the new WASD feature. The fact that I can walk around and move without having to jolt my cursor around to move just to go back to the other side of the screen to target a pack of mobs just feels good to me. Here's your NPC repeat... Hmm WASD so good. Happy? lol. You don't have to use it, so just don't. Not a big deal. If they could implement it the same way they have in POE2 I would 100% play POE1 with it.
I would very much like WASD to happen in PoE 1 as well. I don't care how bad, janky or odd it looks because of the animation frames.

I have wanted it for years and I have read stupid comments about how bad it would be in an isometric arpg time and time again by people who had never actually experienced it before.

As we have seen in PoE 2, and years ago in Van Helsing, it is amazing! It has always been. And frankly, if people don't want to use it, they can simply keep using click to move instead.

So yes. If it is not too much trouble, please add it "yesterday".
No we dont. You need
yes pls! add this future will be realy nice!
No, we dont

i have a similar background and experience as you. i'm on the total opposite spectrum (i'm probably on another one too)

i feel like wasd would be awful in d4 or poe1. because now those extra fingers need to reach and use my skill and flask slots. i love the pathfinding and click to move feeling. it's very underrated and arpg players have taken it for granted for years.

you don't really know how much you miss something until it's gone...

edit: combat seems way different in poe1 vs 2. so i don't think just implementing it would work, i could be wrong however

I'm pro-WASD and using a multi button mouse since long. I think I'm not really good at using fast characters.

What are the advantages of click movement over WASD movement, especially with non-ranged characters ?

I understand that it's better to make use of speed to quickly moving away then attack quickly from distance rather than alternating between each attacking and dodging but still, it happens.
Everything I do should be wrong so please correct me if I do it right <3

No. we do not need wasd in anything

poe 2 is literally the worst thing to happen to gaming. [Removed by Support]

[Removed by Support]

ESPECIALLY. if they think they have to change poe 1 movement in ANY way, which i'm pretty sure i already heard them say they will to make wasd viable.

[Removed by Support] they will change the best feeling arpg ( except these stuns the last 2 weeks. i feel like they stealth buffed mobs again during these PL )

for some reason they can't separate the two games. they think all their changes are s o great they need to add them to poe 1. they already ruined poe 1 over the last 5 years starting in 3.14 . it wasn't 3.15 that started the downfall of testing poe 2 changes with many not being undone or undone in a way that isn't the way it was.

Yes, would absolutely love WASD in PoE1.

Crybabies will always cry anytime anything is changed (that's why they're crybabies), but clearly for an ARPG to survive it needs WASD, that's just where the market / playerbase is now.
I did a quick tally of this thread, because I was curious.

16 Nays

There's an undeniable craving for this feature.
