We need WASD movement for PoE 1 now too.

I watch streamers with wasd and it looks like they're playing some cartoonish street fighter arcade game. the movement looks ridiculous.

i'm going to make my own game call it wasd and never put wasd in it to mess with you sick sick people.

it's not about crying about something new. it's just that poe 2 has melted peoples brains. poe 2 was the biggest mistake in arpg and possibly gaming history. we have something perfectly fine ( or was before 3.14 ) and now we have to deal with people whose minds have broken from poe 2.

WASD in PoE1? Sure, whatever floats your boat - as long as they don't even THINK about balancing the game, certain bosses and/or certain skills around WASD, as they have done in PoE2.

THEY ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. i think ggg said that for wasd to be in the game they have to change movement. they can't just add it in.

We were promised no poe 1 changes for poe 2. sure, they said if something awesome was in poe 2 they'd probably add it to poe 1,, but i'm pretty sure we collectively said, "now hold on one minute".

in the ziz interview it sounded like they wanted to change a lot of poe 1. movement, visuals and more from what they "learned" from poe 2. which is crazy cuz to me they learned nothing.

we live in hell where we don't have legacy servers and if we did tencent would destroy us
I don't care if they add WASD to POE1 as long as it doesn't affect how mouse and keyboard works now. If it will affect it, then no go. No Bueno. If you want that, play POE2.

Because WASD is the worst thing possible in an isometric game. Every isometric game with it is a failure.
It is an horrible hybridation of the worst of both point and click and controller.
If you want optimal control you play point and click
If you want quality of life you play with a controller.

PoE2 came with an autoaim that destroyed the 3 ways of control. Point and click, WASD and controller are horrible in poe2.

WASD in isometric do not work because you do not control FOV with your mouse like in other first or third person games.
It only has 8 directionals and you need to press 2 active inputs for a diagonal strafe.
The truth is WASD players are just people unable to understand point and click or aRPGs.
These are facts. All you guys have to say for WASD is repeating like npc: " Hmm WASD so good."
If you want QoL you play with a controller, no reason to play WASD in any world.

Implementing WASD in poe1? No thanks. That's not the controls that keeps you guys out of poe1, that is the skill check you will never be able to overcome. Stick to poe2 dodgeroll fiesta.

holy based!
Tldr: No.

Extended: Hell no.

Detailed: It's not PoE2.
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].
The only times I actually wanted WASD in PoE was bullet hell phases where you needed precise movement or times when strafing sideways or backwards. Still mouse to move is better in any content where I’m holding forward.

First time playing PoE I couldn’t believe it had no WASD and spent a while trying to turn it on. Even though older ARPGs has these controls, it was easy enough to adapt to PoE 1 controls and get comfortable with it after some time.

You realize you are in withdrawal for a good PoE1 league, when you start theorycraft in your head how you could make that elbow work, measuring pros and cons.

I did a quick tally of this thread, because I was curious.

26 Ayes
16 Nays

There's an undeniable craving for this feature.

Another +1 here for WASD

I don't need to be able to attack while moving, though that feature is definitely nice and POE 2 did an amazing job implementing WASD with that in mind. I just want to be able to move with left hand, and aim/attack with my right hand. That is my preference. If my character has to stop moving when attacking, that is a totally acceptable QoL change for me. I just like being able to move one direction, and then attack in the other direction (even if it stops my character from moving).

If my memory serves me correctly, they said they are changing all MTX from POE 1 to be able to work in POE 2, and when that is finished, then they would be able to implement the same type of WASD movement into POE 1 from POE 2. And I thought I saw in a recent interview that they were going to add an experimental WASD feature to POE 1 (because they already have controller movement)...
Let's work together to make this world a better place :)
