PoE 2 is actively damaging PCs and GGG is on Holiday without fixing it - Loading Screen PC Freeze
Task Manger - Details - Right Click - Set affinity unclick 1-2 procesors off path of exile 2 and it will not lock up ur whole pc and poe2 will crash then u will be able to reopen it again.
This is very bad bug and they should fix it, until then u have workaround. |

Real shame this hasn’t been acknowledged or fixed. I’ve left a negative steam review after trying to get 4 refunds that were denied. Worst launch of any video game I’ve ever seen and biggest waste of money. Saddest part is is the game is actually good and when it fixed I will submit my soul to the grind.
I’m trying to find the logic behind the lack of communication: 1) they truly don’t know what’s causing the crash and don’t want to speak on it until the bug is identified and the data has been analyzed. 2) they know what’s causing the crash and it is a complex issue in the code and is taking longer than expected to fix or they simply dont know how to fix it 3) they know what’s causing the crash but it requires support from other companies (Microsoft, Intel, AMD, nvidia) 4) they know what’s causing the crash but are worried by acknowledging it publicly will be off putting for potential buyers, especially during the holiday season Regardless of the situation, it is disgusting that they can’t even say something like “Hey guys. We’re aware of the crashing issue requiring a full pc reset and will keep you posted on our progress here” - just anything would be better than nothing. I’ve said it in prior posts that this is behavior I’d expect from an Activision, Bungie, Ubisoft, or like blizzard. But honestly while those companies are greedy and their games are littered with MTX, at least they promptly fix or acknowledge when something is game breaking. The whole situation has rubbed me in such a poor way that despite the game being good I just don’t even wanna support it. Really kinda just wanna get my $30 worth and move on |

I’m playing on:
Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Arctic 360 AIO) RTX 4090 DDR5 64 GB 6000 MHz CL36 Win 11 Pro 64 Bit 24H2 The game froze my PC on the very first day after installation, right after creating the character, during the intro animation when the first map loaded. I noticed that the processor was constantly running at 95-100% and the temperatures I saw here were higher than in any other game (and I’ve played countless games from AAA titles to indie). I tried everything—turning off PBO, PBO all-core neg. 30, 20, 10, but it was still the same, CPU maxed out. I tested various graphics settings, resolutions... Still the same. I was disappointed and decided to request a refund. Switching from DirectX12 to Vulkan helped. I gave it another chance and I was happy for 2 days. I played the game without problems on Vulkan, with PBO neg. 20 for CPU, which has been stable for me in all other games for a long time, and I got to Act II in the desert. Today, in the Keth catacombs, where I had tougher fights for a while, my PC froze again. I tried turning off PBO, turning off EXPO, changing/disabling CPU affinity on core 0 and 1. Nothing worked, the game simply crashes every time after I create a portal and teleport to the Caravan to sell items... I know this is Early Access, but I won’t lie when I say I’m disappointed. I hope they fix it. PoE 2 is otherwise a great game. |

" The dude is right, but the chance to damage your hardware is pretty low. And it's not GGG or user responsibility if it happened. Don't you remember the times when we had diskmon /park to park HDD heads before turning power off? It was recently and you already forgot that times? Seriously? " Dude, it's just GGG's fault. It's an instance loading issue with dx12. GGG has to fix it. Escpecially, the whole group was crashing in the same instance, this is not hardware related. buy heeeey, 100k ppl with the same issue are nothing. |
